Rasmussen Reports has more befuddling poll data out now.Apparently, The American people trust the Democrats more than the Republicans on all, of 10 specific issues.
On every one of these issues....every one, the Democrats having nothing substantive to offer. Let's take a look.
ISSUE: NATIONAL SECURITY
REPUBLICAN IDEAS:
Stay of offense. An enemy that must fight from a defensive posture is an enemy that cannot be effective. Continue to support the emergence of democracy in the middle east and use all available tools to uncover and thwart terrorist plans.
DEMOCRATS: Surrender, hate Bush.
ISSUE: TAXES
REPUBLICAN IDEAS: Since the deficit has fallen by almost $350 Billion since the implementation of the 2003 tax cuts, and tax revenues, and the stock market are at all-time highs, only a fool would continue to argue that lower taxes do not support economic growth.
The quickest path to balancing the budget is keeping the economy running by maintaining, or even lowering, the current level of taxation.
DEMOCRATIC IDEAS: Raise taxes by $400 Billion (largest proposed increase ever) and kill the economy...but do it by stealth, by changing 100+ year old House rules, so that nobody knows.
ISSUE: ABORTION
REPUBLICANS: As few as possible.
DEMOCRATS: As many as possible. Let's make sure that we kill off as many babies as we can and exacerbate the looming Social Security, Health care, Immigration and National Security crises. To say nothing of the fact that it is infanticide on an incomprehensible scale.
ISSUE: ECONOMY
REPUBLICANS: Add to the current streak of months of growth (68) and the longest stock market bull run in 80 years. In fact, the economy has grown every single quarter that George W Bush's economic plan has been in effect. That is something that none of his 6 predecessors could say.
DEMOCRATS: The current rash of runaway fuel prices, and the impending burst of the housing bubble are not big enough threats to the American economy. what we need now is to surrender in the war in Iraq, bring terror back to our shores, give amnesty to 20 million illegals, devalue wages with a senseless increase in the minimum wage, and saddle weary businesses and Americans with the biggest tax increase in our nation's history. The only thing missing from the Dems plan is to drop nuclear weapons on American cities but we feel that is probably coming.
ISSUE: ETHICS AND CORRUPTION
REPUBLICANS: Find the members, within our ranks who have violated the public trust, remove them from the party and see to it that they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
DEMOCRATS: Find the members, within our ranks who have violated the public trust, make sure they are reelected and given chairmanship positions.
ISSUE: WAR IN IRAQ
REPUBLICANS: America must win at all costs. Continue to train the Iraqis to defend themselves, work toward political reconciliation and destabilize Iran to prevent further support of the Terrorists.
DEMOCRATS: Al Queda must win at all costs. Subvert and oppose any proposals that could lead to the possibility of victory.
ISSUE: IMMIGRATION
REPUBLICANS: Do nothing to secure the borders. Ignore the clear will of the American people.
DEMOCRATS: Do nothing to secure the borders. Ignore the clear will of the American people....and legalize 2o million illegals and make them Democratic voters.
ISSUE: EDUCATION
REPUBLICANS: Implement a voucher system so that all families have access to good schools. Reward the teachers and schools that perform well, root out those who don't. Allow school administrators and security to armed because of the increased danger of school shootings.
DEMOCRATS: We believe that quality schools are reserved for elitist, affluent Liberals (at your expense, of course). Although we do appreciate your vote and your money, we really don't want to risk the possibility that our well dressed and groomed offspring may have to wallow with the unwashed.
Therefore, we think it best that the poor and less fortunate should remain in crime and filth ridden public schools, with a proven track record of failure, so that they can be indoctrinated into liberal dependency.
We also think it best that all schools be gun-free zones so that, when the school shooters do come (Jonesboro, Columbine, VA Tech), there is minimum chance of any return fire.
We believe that it is your responsibility as parents, to teach your children how to duck bullets and run for cover.
ISSUE: SOCIAL SECURITY
REPUBLICANS: Simple supply and demand. Far fewer Americans will be contributing to Social Security, far more Americans will be taking out of it. Considering this, and the historical return of about 1% per anum, Social security will go bankrupt if other options are not looked at such as personal retirement accounts.
DEMOCRATS: We realize that you have paid into Social Security for most of your life but we will not be able to give you benefits upon retirement. We need the money you have paid to support the retirement of Illegal Aliens that we intend to grant amnesty to.
Personal accounts? You must be kidding. This is our money!
Oh, and if the account nears bankruptcy, we will be hitting you up with a huge tax increase.
ISSUE: HEALTHCARE
REPUBLICANS: control the soaring costs of malpractice insurance by capping lawsuit claims. Give doctors the ability to stop practicing defensive medicine by running extra, un-needed tests. Implement a prescription drug benefit that is based on need. Offer more tax benefits for citizens who use medical savings accounts with catastrophic plans, to keep costs low.
DEMOCRATS: What? Lawsuits are cool! We look at it as kind of a social lottery.
Drug benefits should be based on age. We believe that 65 year old millionaires deserve prescription drugs at your expense.
NEITHER: we can we figure out a way to stop illegal aliens from using Emergency rooms for non-emergency care that we have to pay for?
