Lieberman: Surge Is Working
DENNIS COOK / AP, June 28, 2007

WASHINGTON - As key Republican support for President Bush's Iraq war strategy begins to erode, Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman today urged fellow lawmakers and the public to give the American military surge time to work."We've got to think not about the next election but the next generation," he told a Capitol Hill news conference. The U.S. military surge, Lieberman contended, has the enemy "on the run."The Connecticut senator, an independent who caucuses with Democrats, has been one of the Senate's most vocal war backers, and would not let up today.

His comments came three days after Sen. Richard G. Lugar, R-Ind., the highly respected top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, as well as Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio, urged the White
House to change course and begin, as Lugar put it, to downsize U.S. involvement in Iraq."In my judgment, the costs and risks of continuing down the current path outweigh the potential benefits that can be achieved," said Lugar in a Senate floor speech Monday.

"Persisting indefinitely with the surge strategy will delay policy adjustments that have a better chance of protecting our vital interests over the long term."He noted that the current American political climate, as well as international views of the United States, show little prospect of improving."Unless we recalibrate our strategy in Iraq to fit our domestic political conditions and the broader needs of U.S. national security," Lugar said, "We risk foreign policy failures that could greatly diminish our influence in the region and the world."The White House is clearly concerned about Lugar's shift, as it sent National Security Adviser Stephen J. Hadley to meet with the senator today.Lieberman appeared later alongside Sen. Lindsey O. Graham, R-S.C. The surge, Lieberman said, is working. And it has just begun, he
added, so it needs time to be fully evaluated.

"In places where the surge is focused," he said, notably Anbar Province and elsewhere, "security is undeniably improving."Lieberman, who recently visited Iraq, was asked whether he got solid, independent information that he could use in his judgment."You've got to have confidence in our military leadership," he explained, adding later, "I trust what they tell me."He had some praise for Lugar's remarks, calling it a "very important speech," and noting how the senator urged a more bipartisan Iraq policy. And he agreed with Lugar's contention that a precipitous withdrawal from Iraq would be catastrophic for America's security.Lugar did not urge setting a timetable for removing U.S. troops.

Now Is The Time To Strike - Contact House Members Immediately To Push Enforcement Bill!
By Digger

(hat tip to Digger's Realm)
After the absolutely thrilling defeat of Senate Bill 1639 yesterday, many across the Internet and the nation celebrated the victory over amnesty that was trying to be shoved down our throats. But now is not the time to rest on our laurels!

Immediately contact your House representative and call for an enforcement bill to be brought forward and let's strike while the striking is good. Sure there are already laws on the books and if they would just be enforced we would have never been in the situation we are in now, but I want to stick it to these pro-amnesty illegal alien supporters and impale them once and for all!
We have been told that an immigration bill will now be dead until after the presidential election, but let's prove them wrong! Let's push through a true American immigration bill. One that mandates enforcement and border security ONLY!

The Capitol switchboard can be reached at: 202-224-3121
You can also fax your rep for free at
NumbersUSA
If you have a website, spread the word, if you have an email list, spread the word!
Let's put this baby to bed! Lest we have to once again fight against this kind of travesty in the future.

Jimmy Stach, who stole the Freedom Fighter name (and almost everything else on his show), has been relieved of his slot by Blog Talk Radio. I was not informed of the specific reasons for the boot but I would speculate that his constant plagiarism, lying, hate speech, vulgar incoherent outbursts, fanaticism and outright lunacy were all factors. Other possible factors may have included the fact that he is an illiterate boob who cannot pronounce even simple words like "with" correctly.

His recent arrest for harboring a female minor as well as his views about killing/deporting all the muslims in America, could have also been weighed in the decision. Then there is the fact that Jimbo seems to be making a consistent, concerted effort to be hated by everyone on the planet in as little time as possible.

Finally, he was violating the clear, stated terms of service by using material he was not authorized to use and promoting a BTR competitor.

These are all just guesses. One thing is certain- the 4 foot tall stuttering ex cop, will not be missed. His swift removal was a brilliant move by BTR, sure to boost their ratings ten fold. It also paves the way for the unfettered return of the real Freedom Fighter Radio show.

This very blog campaigned and raised money against Tim Kaine in 2005. Voters in Virginia voted in the Democrat idiot.

Now, they will pay for their foolishness.

A speeding ticket in Virginia will now cost you (between fines, surcharges) up to $1,300. That does not include possibly hundreds more in increased insurance premiums.

For a minimum wage earner, that translates to about 1/10th of a year's net income.

5 weeks pay.... for 1 speeding ticket. The fines are regressive. The less you make, the more it hurts.

Liberal compassion strikes again.

The real irony is that the AAA is on board because it will reduce accidents and fatalities by making people drive safer. Well, the Kaine administration claims the intent is to raise revenue for road projects.

Wait a minute. If people drive safer, there won't be many tickets, so road improvements suffer. However, if people do'nt drive safer, accidents and fatalities continue.......

but at least the roads get built.

Liberals are vile, aren't they?
