In November of 2006, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid and company were swept into power on the strength of 1 sentence- "A new direction in Iraq". Americans are having a serious case of buyer's remorse. Right now, congress has the lowest approval ratings ever recorded according to three of the most prominent pollsters- Rasmussen Reports, Zogby and Gallup.
Americans are learning what I could have told them last fall. Democrats have no direction in Iraq- never have, never will.The Democrats entire Iraq strategy consists of 4 steps:
- Bitch
- Lie
- Accuse
- Surrender
Rasmussen Reports shows that the number of Americans who think an Iraq pullout would make us less safe, outnumbers the number who think it would make us more safe by 19 points.
Last night, the Dems not only failed to get the 60 votes they needed to force cloture on a cut and run bill, they failed to get even 48. This is a party in very serious trouble. A party being devoured by the monsters itself created.
It is certainly sweet poetic justice, that the shrill, never ending purveyors of doom, determined to pull the country into despair so they could run it, have now hung a big anchor around their own collective necks.
As Harry Reid sits, paralyzed in the Senate, victim to the same juvenile parlor tricks he played as minority leader, I laugh out loud. In this toxic political environment, Reid can only long for Bush's approval numbers (nearly 3 times his own). Reid's and Pelosi's return to minority status is not far behind.
