CLIMB ON BOARD WITH FRED!

(cross posted with the Headless Thompson Gunners)

Recently, a few of the Ron Paul flakes (presumably from
the internet's resident looney bin),
have peppered this blog and the Gunners with such wild-eyed dribble as;
The neocons are done. The only way the GOP can win the next election is to
change course. The GOP must nominate a candidate with a stronger anti-war record
than any Democrat. That is the only way they can win.The base of the GOP has
been shrinking. In order to win the election in 2008, the GOP needs to attract
Democrats, independents, Libertarians, Constitutionalists, etc. The ONLY
candidate who has proven he can do that is Ron Paul.

Quotes such as this make one seriously question the writer's sanity. Nevertheless, America's most accurate pollster- Rasmussen Reports- released some very damning numbers for the Paul camp.

First, in any hypothetical matchup vs the Top 3 Democrats, Paul fails to garner even 35% support. This polling is based on premise that he is the GOP nominee!

Paul does the worst of any Republican in every category and some of his numbers are just horrendous.
  • Paul attracts 65% from Republicans. (compared to 80% for George W Bush)
  • Hillary gets 49% of the vote against him, Obama 50%, even with NO undecideds.
  • His support among Liberals is 11% and is 13%-15% among Democrats.
His supporters are under the delusion that the Democrats might support an anti-war Republican. Wake up Paulites! The Democrats couldn't really care less about the Iraq war. If Hillary takes the oath of office on January 20th, 2009, the Dems and the media will forget about Iraq on January 21st. If Hillary's election were followed by a nuclear explosion that killed every man woman and child in Iraq, the liberals would not even notice, much less care.

In 2006, The Dems reelected a whole host of Senators that voted for the War and in 2004, they nominated 2 Senators that did as well. For all their anti-war blather, they will again nominate someone who voted for the war in Iraq-Hillary.

Of course, the wicked witch voted for the war, then, later, voted to cut funding for the troops on the ground. This reserves her a special place in hell.
If Hillary's election were followed by a
nuclear explosion that killed every man
woman and child in Iraq, the liberals
would not even notice, much less care.

Paul has been against the war from day 1. should he receive extra credit because his stupidity was not arrived at late in the game? No. This blogger has never shown any respect to anyone who opposes our mission in Iraq....and why should I?

Nobody has ever been able to give even a mildly lucid defense of the anti-war position and most simply devolve into name calling and fantasy based historical revisionisms that don't even make any sense. Absent in any Iraq war argument is even the most basic form of logic.

The Anti-war moonbats will create any kind of nonsensical convention imaginable to avoid 2 very simple facts:
  1. The Terrorists hate us because their religion demands it. No other reason or cause.
  2. There is nothing we can do to change #1.
Of course, this won't stop the moonbats from saying utterly stupid and indefensible things that try to minimize the barbarism of suicide bombers and Islamo-fascist thugs. However, it should stop us from listening to their inane stupidity. People who oppose the Iraq war do not even deserve to have their opinions even heard. That is my opinion.

It is also the opinion of the overwhelming number of Republicans.

Ron Paul has virtually no support to speak of from Republicans, less from Independents, less still from democrats, even less from Liberals. Ron Paul is the man without a demographic...save the lunatics.

Unfair to call them lunatics? Nonsense.

Just listen to them. Among the hysterical claims made by the Paul loonies, on this site, and the Headless Gunners:
  • Bush is a fascist
  • Bush is a greater threat to Liberty than Bin Laden.
  • The United States supplied the nerve gas Saddam used on the Kurds.
  • The United States supported UBL in Afghanistan.
  • The creation of Israel was illegal.
  • The cause of 9/11 was the Shah of Iran's rise to power in 1953.
  • Without Ron Paul on the ticket, the GOP has no chance of victory in 2008

Now, I realize the futility of trying to transport these kool aid drinking psychopaths back to the reality based world. Afterall, his base of support is a cult of Hale Bop/Guyana/Waco types who see everyone who belongs to a think tank like the CFR as a person lying in wait to invade their homes and hand them over to a worldwide, muslim theocracy. For any of the rest of you that are considering taking a look at Ron Paul, consider this...

Ron Paul is the man without a demographic...save the lunatics.

The numbers don't lie. There is not a single candidate - democrat or republican - that Ron Paul wouldn't lose to in a head to head match. That, my friends, is the sad truth about Ron Paul.

There is only one republican who can win - Fred Thompson.
