RUSH DRINKS AND SMOKES CIGARS WITH THE PRESIDENT

This is why the left hates Rush so much...

Click HERE to hear it, and here's a transcript which will drive the moonbats up the freaking wall!

CALLER: My topic this morning is, I have heard the accounts of many of your colleagues meeting with the president Wednesday morning --

RUSH: Mmm-hmm?

CALLER: -- and I was wondering why the man who is running America, "you know it and I know it," was not there.

RUSH: Because I went yesterday afternoon and last night.
CALLER: What a privilege for you, I'm sure.
RUSH: Well, it was a privilege for them.

CALLER: So that was your super-secret meeting?

RUSH: Super-secret meeting at a far-away place, yeah. The president and I, Ed Gillespie in the room who took over for Dan Bartlett. We had cigars and beverages for a couple hours in the Treaty Room up in the residence. It was so much fun.

CALLER: Was this meeting off the record as well?

RUSH: This one, yes. Even if they had not told me this was off the record, this one was off the record. I'm just guessing here, but I don't think the things we discussed last night got discussed in these group things. I would be stunned if they did. Then I went in and had dinner with the president and Mrs. Bush and the first lady, but it was about two and a half hours in there, and it was cool. It was a tremendous amount of fun. I got up early. One reason I'm low on sleep, is I had to get up at 4:30 for breakfast in the White House mess today with Karl Rove and Pete Wehner.

CALLER: What a privilege for you, I'm sure.

RUSH: Well, it was a privilege for them.

CALLER: (Laughing.)

RUSH: You know, people have been asking me, "Well, what did the president tell you last night?" That's not it. "What did I tell the president?" is the correct question.

CALLER: (Laughing.) So he also recognizes that you're the man running the country?

RUSH: Well, who doesn't? I mean there are certain things that don't need to be said.

LIBERALS WANT YOU TO PAY MORE FOR GAS

In effect, a $16 billion tax increase would go straight to the pump

SOURCE

Wrangling in Washington over 'punishing' oil companies to the tune of $16 billion dollars is, to be fair, over removing tax breaks to oil companies. These tax breaks supposedly benefit us at the pump. But whether or not they do at this point in time, the removal of these tax protections will certainly nail you and I in terms of higher prices at the pumps.

It seems that this congress, led by arguably the worst leaders in congressional history, is out to get that sorry 3% approval rating even LOWER. Reid and Pelosi don't know how to lessen our tax burden. Given enough time, they'll raise every tax, every fee, every cost that the American citizen pays.

Had enough? Even those conservatives who stayed home on principle last election have to be convinced now that allowing these cretins to gain power is not worth it. A lousy republican on any given day is better than the best democrat, without exception.

Democrats are flailing on the issue of Iraq and, leading up to the report by General Petraeus, they are likely to be hit with a backlash of earthquake proportions.

As A Newt One has already shown, a stunning new Zogby poll shows that only 3% of Americans approve of the way the Democrat lead congress is handling Iraq.

Yet this is only one of an avalanche of polling data that has the anti-war left in a complete panic as we await the General's report. The numbers still aren't all that great but as Charlie Cooke once observed "the trend is your friend".

Let's look at some of the numbers from Rasmussen Reports:

The trend is certainly no friend of the Dems right now.
A Month Ago, only 19% of Americans said the surge is working, that number is now 25%.

Trend: Mission supporters +6

In addition, another 26% say that it is too early to tell. A month ago, the number was at 24%.
Trend: Mission supporters +2

Now, let's look at the overall net numbers. A Month ago:
Surge is working/too early to tell: 43%
Surge is not working: 57%
Net: minus 14

Now:
Surge is working/too early to tell: 51%
Surge is not working: 49%
Net: +2

That's right, not only is a small majority of Americans now favoring at least waiting for the General's report, those numbers represent a 16 point net swing to the moral, honorable side in a single month.

That, my friends, is momentum.
