"In some ways, [the internet is] the way we have to go," Edwards says. "We can't make John black, we can't make him a woman. Those things get you a lot of press, worth a certain amount of fundraising dollars. Now it's nice to get on the news, but not the be all and end all."

Oh, sure you can, Liz, sure you can . . .


More humorous is, as a caller to Larry Elder pointed out today, the fact that Elizabeth has indeed admitted in a public statement that being WHITE is detrimental, and that being female or black is beneficial! This is amazing, isn't it? America has gotten to the point where Edwards' whiteness is going to be his downfall!


Global warming nuts turn up the hot air:

As discussed on the Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh shows today, this gem -

Melissa Hortman of the Minnesota House of Representatives 'speculated that 90-plus-degree heat Wednesday and the above-normal temperatures of the past two summers may have been a contributing factor,' and said 'You wonder if this bridge was built to withstand the massive heat we have had this summer.'

Anyone know a structural engineer? Gee, I wonder if they really do design bridges that can only hold up in 85° weather.

Or, as the blog's senior editor asked me today on the phone -

"How is it that, according to the left wing moonbats, 90 degree heat brought down the bridge in Minnesota, but, according to those same hysterical leftwingers, 3200 degree heat could not bring down the Twin towers on 9-11?"

Ah ha! Great question, sir Knight! Once again, A Newt One invites the left wing moonbats who read this blog to answer that question . . . Hear the crickets?

SONLITKNIGHT: Operation America Rising and Move America Forward will be represented on today’s show and I could not help but be struck by the optimistic similarities of the two names. When you really get down to it, both names say the same thing - organized action to move the country in a positive direction.

Whether you say 'Operation' or 'Move'; whether you say 'Rising' or 'Forward', the message is clear and inescapable. Either one of these names could easily and seamlessly, be replaced with a new name;

Make America Better.

In the interest of full disclosure, I must state that I was once a member of Operation America Rising and I stepped down because I disagreed with the direction some of the membership were attempting to take the organization in.

We broke ties in a very positive, non confrontational way until the organization was attacked online by a wild eyed, mentally unstable anti-war lunatic.

Certain members of the organization stated that I was the person behind the attack or was, in some way related to it. Since then, Nearly all have come to understand that I had nothing to do with it. The continued irrational outbursts of this looney contrasted quite clearly with the insightful, thought provoking essays delivered here.

Operation America Rising’s new President, Robert Nelson joins us to talk about how best to build on that momentum and take it to the next level. Robert understands the basic, fundamental truth that supporting our troops is impossible without support of the missions and that a failure in Iraq is simply not an option.

Having earned the honor of largest political, pro-troop rally in American history is of little consequence to Robert beyond the goal of changing hearts and minds back to supporting all of the missions of our military and the troops who fight those missions.

Operation America Rising is not a partisan organization. If you support the troops and the missions, they want you. Defending America has no party affiliation.

Debbie Lee lost her son in Iraq. Will the media and the anti-war crowd demand that detractors honor and respect Debbie’s moral authority the same way they did Cindy Sheehen? That was a rhetorical question. We both know the answer is no.

I too lost a son, though under very different circumstances and I know that the pain is beyond belief. Yet, Debbie and I have found out that there are things more important than self and things worse than death.

A person who finds nothing worth dying for is a person who finds nothing worth living for, for he finds not the courage to ever look beyond himself. Such a one is condemned to a life of isolation, misery and loneliness and, regardless of how many times he calls his life rich and rewarding, his bitterness and self-imposed anguish are transparent to even the most casual observer.

Debbie Lee has suffered a loss that I have seen destroy people but it will not destroy her. Debbie knows that her son is not dead. He lives on. He lives on in her memory and he drives her forward into battle as he was. Debbie knows that her son is alive in the memories of the soldiers who fought with him and the name of Marc Lee fights on in the spirit of the Iraqi people.

Marc lives on in the Heavens and he smiles down on a mother who fights the good fight.

Move America Forward is the largest support the troops organization in America and, with your help, they will continue to combat the caustic bias against the honorable mission in Iraq.

Move America Forward needs your help to put forth a massive, 27 rally caravan across America, culminating in a huge support the troops rally in our Nation’s capital on September 15th.
