POINT

There is no one in the blogosphere I respect more than Ed Morrissey of the Captain's Quarters blog. It is for this reason that disagreeing with his opinion on my show made me a little uneasy. However, I must restate my position.

Rudy Guiliani cannot beat Hillary.

In fact, I think a Rudy vs Hillary race would be a rout in favor of her evilness.

Rudy has zero appeal in the south and in the midwest and the blue states would vote for a blind monkey with no arms and legs as a democrat.

So, her evilness would stomp Rudy in New York, New Jersey, Massachsetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Deleware, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Maryland, Illinois, California....etc... while holding her own in the south and midwest as conservatives stayed home.

In fact, tens of millions of Conservatives and Republicans would not vote for uber lib Guiliani under any circumstances whatsoever..... I am one of them. On this point, my partner Jimmy Z may disagree.

Rudy is rock solid on crime, the war on terror, taxes and economic issues but his social positions make me want to vomit. He is such an absolute left wing extremist on these issues that they more than outweigh his strengths on the other issues.

In short, he is just Hillary without the pantsuit.

The latest Rasmussen poll shows Rudy starting to build a significant lead over Thompson because, frankly, Fred needs to stop leaving Conservative America hanging.

Thompson is the only Republican that can beat Shrillary. Fred...your killin us here.... are you in or not?? It's not a tough question.

COUNTER-POINT

I will point out here that - with all due respect - conservatives that choose not to vote at all damage us worse than ANY damage a left winger like Hillary or Pelosi or Reid can cause.

It is a vital question - would you bow out, stay home, and not vote for President of the United States if it were Hillary vs. Rudy? I do not even think the question needs a moment's thought. Of COURSE you vote for Rudy. You might hate the social issue positions, but are you seriously going to stay home and let Hillary and Obama run the country?

Bill Keller of liveprayer.com believes that this is exactly what is going to happen, and that the horror of four years with Hillary/Obama will not only send politics and voters to the right, but also drop people to their knees in prayer. Long run? Good thing... but I don't want to go through that, do you? Rudy needs to wake up on social issues, but this country is at war! Obama and Hillary have both shown us that we are in great danger as a nation if we turn the White House over to them.

If Fred doesn't run, and he might not, conservatives must hold their nose and not only vote for Rudy, but get out there and fight for his election during the campaign. Not voting would be akin to committing national suicide.

COUNTER-COUNTER POINT

With all the respect due to my great friend, and blogging partner James E. Zee, a Hlllary/Rudy race is a choice between cancer and heart disease. I loathe both of them and could not vote for either under any circumstance whatsoever.

If Rudy is nominated, the question of whether a leftwing moonbat will be the next President is answered. If Rudy is nominated, a leftwinger will be elected President and drive the country straight into the toilet. The only question is which leftwinger.

If Hillary wins, we will only have to endure 4 years of liberalism because her leftwing idiocy will cause America to revolt and elect a Republican to replace her.

However, if Rudy is nominated, the revolt caused by his idiocy will cause America to replace him with a democrat.

So, given the choice between Rudy and Hillary, I stay home, punish the GOP for nominating that fool, and immediatly start looking for Hillary's replacement for 2012.

I warn the GOP. Don't EVEN give us Rudy. Don't even THINK about it. We'll stay home. That's a promise.

BOTTOM LINE POINT

You are therefore arguing that you would rather give the White House, and the country, to Hillary and Obama (assuming he's the running mate) than to vote for Rudy. That sounds irrational to me. Punishing the GOP sounds irrational to me. Hopefully, we won't have to make the decision, but the possibility for terrible times at home - economically and with Islamo fascist terrorism, is very real under Hillary/Obama.

By staying home you are voting for running the country into the toilet. That's irrational.

Now, I ask you to (a) move this dialog to the comments venue beneath this post and (b) give a rational, unemotional argument FOR allowing Hillary to be elected over Rudy, who you know FOR A FACT is a far better candidate for America's security.

I look forward to that.

Hey! We ask our readers to join in as well!
