CRAZY MOONBAT THINKING
First, the left tells us that oil and gasoline are evil, dirty, bad for the world.
Next, the left forces us into more greenish fuels, like corn-based ethanol.
Then of course, with corn being used to make that ethanol for fuel, the prices of corn and milk, just to name two, go through the roof.
So, a left wing moonbat in an online chat room has her moronic spin already in place:
#2267 -- 9:23pm -- Fri, Aug 10, 07 pst It certainly won't be the case when the resources run low. already we are ready to pay more for food so that we can make our cars go.
So - can we assume that this person does not drive anywhere? I asked her four times. FOUR TIMES. She refused to answer, thus an admission that she does drive - and is a hypocrite.
Left wing ... hypocrite ... yeah, I know, I'm not exactly breaking news here.

NASA CONTINUES TO USE LONG OUTDATED TECHNOLOGY - WHY?
 Vega . . . . . . . . . . and Space Shuttle, both model year 1980
The beleaguered space shuttle has, once again, had another mishap. There is a gouge, or some kind of gash, on the orbiter's belly. The International Herald Tribune reports, "NASA was urgently calculating whether risky spacewalk repairs are needed after a close-up inspection revealed that a 3 1/2-inch-long gouge penetrates the thermal shielding on the shuttle's belly.A chunk of insulating foam hit the Endeavour at liftoff last week in an unlucky ricochet off the fuel tank." (MORE)
The Shuttle first flew in 1980. Reagan was just being elected President, beating Jimmy (don't call me Jimmah) Carter. Children born in that year are now 27 years old. CNN was started that year. Chevrolet Vegas were new cars. 'Do That To Me One More Time' by the Captain and Tennille was a top ten hit for the year. 'Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back' was released. I was less than half my age today. *L*
In other words, it was a long, long time ago.
The design of the Shuttle remains ingenious. It has served NASA very well. But would you attempt a cross country journey in a well-worn 1980 vehicle (sure, that Vega is a hyperbolic example, so let's say a Cadillac) even if that vehicle were well maintained? Your chances for breakdown would be very high - you'd probably break down or over heat often.
Reliability wise, there is no reason at all to head out on a long road trip in a high-mileage, 27 year old vehicle. Why then are we asking astronauts to risk their lives in this 27 year old space ship? Reflect if you will upon the improvements in automobiles and technology of any sort over the past quarter century.
Telephones, televisions, digital cable, sound systems, computers for home and office ... the changes to the way we live life, and the increase in dependability and reliability has been jaw dropping. Putting these brave men and women into a ship that was designed so many years ago seems unjustifiable, even foolish.
Shouldn't NASA have coughed up a new, better space traveling vehicle in the last two decades? When the Challenger blew up 20 years ago, shouldn't the program have been re-worked then? When is the last time you heard of a space shuttle launch that did NOT have a story about damage to the vehicle associated with it?
Clearly, it is time to stop trying to figure out how to get the astronauts home safely once they are in space and viewing the damage to their craft. It is time to stop biting nails as they re-enter the atmosphere and try to come home, wondering if the vehicle will burn up or not.
It is time to retire the Shuttle program. It is time to give these explorers a 2007 vehicle for that 'cross country trip.' It's time to have a vehicle for space travel that was designed in the current century.

AT&T Regrets Censoring Pearl Jam's Anti-Bush Lyrics Company Cuts 2 Lines During Band's Webcast Performance
POSTED: 6:53 am MDT August 10, 2007
SAN ANTONIO -- AT&T admits it should not have censored a Webcast of a Pearl Jam's concert in which they criticized President George W. Bush.
AT&T's Blue Room site carried a Webcast of Pearl Jam's performance at Lollapalooza in Chicago on Sunday, but it was shown on delay so AT&T could bleep it for profanity or nudity.
However, monitors hired by AT&T through a vendor cut two lines from Pearl Jam's rendition of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick In The Wall."
One line was, "George Bush, leave this world alone," and another was "George Bush, find yourself another home," according to the band.
(SOURCE)
Now, seriously - is that the best they can do? Hell, I could have written better anti-Bush lyrics for a song and I don't even hate the President like they do! Anyone still wondering why Pearl Jam has been off the radar for nearly a decade? And I LIKE Pearl Jam! But dude: "find yourself another home?" Holy crap ... someone hire these guys some writers! --JimmyZLabels: A Newt One, American Truth warriors, Blog talk radio, Checkmate, Conservative, Darter45, Fred Thompson, Freedom Fighter, Freedom Fighter Radio, freedomfighteronthehomefront.com, freedomfighterradio.com, George W Bush, Iraq, Jimmy Carter, Jimmy Z, Moonbats, Operation America Rising, Patriots for Conservative values, Politics, Snooper, SonlitKnight, surge, Terrorism, The Headless Thompson Gunners, The Truth Surge

Lutherans ask bishops to keep gay clergy in ministry
Vote urges bishops to avoid discipline
By Margaret Ramirez | Tribune religion reporter August 12, 2007
In a historic decision that could shift the future of their church's policy on sexuality, the nation's largest Lutheran denomination Saturday urged its bishops to refrain from disciplining gay ministers who are in committed same-sex relationships.
The resolution came from Chicago's Bishop Paul Landahl on the final day of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America's national meeting at Navy Pier. After emotional testimony on the biblical interpretation of homosexuality, church leaders passed Landahl's resolution by a vote of 538-431. Saturday's resolution surprised some in the church because it came a day after leaders defeated a measure that would have ended the ban on non-celibate gay clergy.
For church advocates who support inclusion of gays in the church, the resolution was hailed as a partial victory and a step toward full inclusion of homosexuals in the church. But conservative leaders saw the move as contradictory to the church's policy against ordination of gay ministers and predicted the resolution would open the door to chaos in the church.

Mitt Romney Wins Iowa Poll; Huckabee Finishes Surprising Second
By Hans Nichols
Aug. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Mitt Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts, won the Iowa straw poll, securing his status as the leading Republican in a state that has dashed the ambitions of many would-be presidents.
"This important victory sends a signal to grassroots Republican activists across the country that we are working hard to earn their support," said Romney, who received 4,516 of the 14,302 ballots cast, for 31 percent.
He was followed by former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who secured a surprising 2,587 votes, at 18 percent. Senator Sam Brownback, of Kansas, came in third with 2,197 votes at 15 percent.
With former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Arizona Senator John McCain skipping the event, and Romney the presumed winner, the race was largely about who would come in second.
"For all practical purposes, we won the Iowa straw poll," Huckabee said. "No-one gets more mileage for their money," he said, referring to his shoestring campaign.
Brownback, Huckabee's main competitor for second place, had a more organized operation in Ames, Iowa, complete with an air- conditioned tent for his supporters. By contrast, Huckabee's effort was a ragtag affair in the sweltering heat. His campaign could only afford to purchase 1,800 of the $35 tickets needed to vote, far fewer than he needed to come in second.
Shortly after the results were announced, Huckabee held a jubilant news conference, vowing to raise more money and quipping with reporters about his secret strategy: Playing the song "Freebird" for his supporters.
