WAS IT A HATEFUL OR MORAL DECISION?

Standing up against sin is becoming more and more unfashionable

The world is quite happy with sin, it appears, especially homosexuality. One church in Dallas stood up - they were not going to allow their sanctuary to be used as a pulpit for a pro-gay lifestyle funeral service.

The church explains their position very well in their statement. Not only do they have a right to stand up for what they believe, they have a RESPONSIBILITY to stand up. It wasn't a decision not to have the funeral at all - but then, they explain it very well:

"Allowing an openly homosexual service in our facility would condone homosexuality as a lifestyle. We could not allow the homosexual lifestyle to be celebrated, flaunted or glorified in our church facility. We could not put inappropriate images on our screens or subject our members and possibly even our children to an openly homosexual service. We cannot condone what the Word of God condemns.

"The issue was not whether we would hold a memorial service for someone in a lifestyle of sin. We have assisted many families in this regard. The issue was whether we would allow an openly homosexual service that celebrated and emphasized homosexuality in our church. We love the homosexual, but cannot condone the homosexual lifestyle. We could not allow homosexuality to be glorified in this house of worship."

Right on the money. God bless these people for their strength and moral uprightness.

MERV GRIFFIN DIES UNNECESSARILY

Bush's economic policies and global warming blamed for beloved entertainer's death

HOLLYWOOD, A NEWT ONION - Merv Griffin died a few days ago, and already the left has blamed it on President George W. Bush. "Bush's economic policies brought death sooner to Merv," said Cindy Sheehan, who is running for Nancy Pelosi's California seat in the House of Representatives. "Poor Merv! Even as a billionaire, Bush's economy ruined his chances of survival."

Rob Reiner was upset as well, claiming that the ongoing global warming did Merv in. "Without question," Rob said as he gnawed a slab of prime rib for breakfast, "global warming was a key reason Merv died. Prostate Cancer is linked conclusively to the rising temperatures world wide."

"Think about it. Global warming and prostate cancer are both on the rise. It doesn't take a scientist to understand the relationship between Merv's death and this global warming stuff."

Harry Reid, Democrat senator, blamed Merv's death on the war in Iraq: "We have a problem in this country. As long as our troops are dying in a war we've already lost in Iraq, people like Merv are going to be dying too. It's a fact that cannot be denied by this President. We have to pull out of Iraq. If we'd have done so last year, Merv might still be with us."
