Jimmy Z -  Readers: I thought I would take a quick moment here and make sure I have not alienated those of you who do not share my personal faith. I know that my long-time political web partner SonlitKnight and I do not see eye to eye on all things of faith (he is Catholic and I am Protestant), but on the important matters of Christ we run parallel.

Still, many of you may not ascribe to the Christian faith, or any faith at all, and I want to assure you that A Newt One is still your Truth Surge.

When I write of Christian topics, I am going to assume that I write to those of you who are Christians. I’m not excluding anyone, but I’m not proselytizing either.

I recognize that good people come from all kinds of faith, or no faith at all. We are bound by our conservative politics here at A Newt One, not religious faith.

For me, of course, my faith in Christ guides my political convictions, and so it would be impossible for me to exclude the substance of my faith while writing of politics.

My faith is personal, and while I am not afraid to speak of it, I’m wary of preaching because I am not perfect. I seek to improve all the time, and with God’s grace I am doing so. But please know that I do not elevate myself higher than any of you who are believers.

I consider you all friends and partners in the work we have set out before us in the coming year: Defeat of the democrats (and Hillary specifically if she is their nominee) is paramount -  matters of faith, in this case, will be secondary.

As always, your comments are appreciated and encouraged.
