A NEWT ONE-THE TRUTH SURGE

MORE OBSERVATIONS ON PICKING ROMNEY

The view from the minority position

Jimmy ZThe more I read and listen, the more I realize that I’m in the minority of conservative Christian voters. While I have chosen to put my faith first and politics second (basing my political positions as best I can on my Christian faith), there are many out there who put conservative politics first.

That’s ok, that is each person’s prerogative. I was talking about this again in the chat room the other night, and a conservative woman I respect very much told me that I was ‘disgusting’ for making religion the most important aspect of choosing a candidate.

Yet religion is not the most important issue to me in a candidate. In the case of Mitt Romney, HIS religion is a huge issue for me, not because of what I believe, but because of what he believes.

This is a very important distinction. I have said and I’m being totally blunt with you: I could vote for a Jew, a Methodist, a Catholic or an Episcopalian. I could vote for a Baptist, a person who believes simply in God but never goes to church, or even an agnostic.  I would not trust an atheist in general, but I might vote for even an atheist who shared my beliefs politically.

But a vote for Mitt Romney is a vote for a Mormon; a guy who believes God was just another man. Romney believes that he too can aspire to be a god of his own planet somewhere out there. Romney believes in Mormon secret rituals and that alone should frighten you! Not only does he involve himself in secret rituals, but he cannot discuss them with people outside of the LDS church.

What the hell is that?  Is this ‘conservative’ politician the guy you want to vote for?  People liked to say that George W. Bush is too religious, talking about God and prayer.  But Bush can talk openly about any aspect of his faith; so can I. There’s not a thing that goes on in a Christian Church that is done behind closed doors. We are never told to keep this bit or that bit secret. In fact, we invite all into our church services.

Mormons married in certain ceremonies forbid anyone who is not Mormon from attending the service. This excludes all family members who are not Mormon. That’s pure cult BS, my friend. Christian churches invite everyone to witness marriages and baptisms; they are a form of witness to others!

I know how important it is to have a conservative Republican running for President, but I’ve been saddened lately to see and hear many people whom I respect, including Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, more interested in the politics of Mr. Romney than in his cultic fervor. This is very dangerous stuff, my friends.  And if we were to elect a member of a Satanic Cult to the highest office in our land, and make him leader of the free world, mark my words: It will come back to bite us in the ass like nothing you have ever seen before.
