CAN A CHRISTIAN CONSERVATIVE VOTE FOR ROMNEY?
Visiting the issue again as Rush Limbaugh touts Romney’s conservatism
Jimmy Z - John McCain isn’t the guy, conservatively speaking, but I’d be much more likely to vote for him than for Mitt Romney.
You see, within my Bible based belief system, voting for a Mormon would be the same as voting for a Scientologist, a Wicca witch, or a Jehovah’s Witness.
Bill Keller said it much more directly: A vote for Mitt Romney is a vote for Satan. While this is a shocking and mean-spirited statement to some, it is the truth. Mormonism is a lie, and Mormons - while unquestionably nice people - are not Christians.
I’d rather vote for an agnostic.
McCain is a pro open-borders/amnesty guy. If you hate Bush on that issue, you're going to despise McCain. McCain is also a 'global warming' nut. Another reason to hate McCain.
The Republican party already made its nasty, bone-jarring lurch the left with Bush, a committed non-conservative in many ways. He ain’t no Reagan in any way. The next choice is going to suck even worse, it appears, but I'd still rather not have a Mormon president, even if he is more conservative than McCain.
And if Romney can’t beat Hillary, he can’t be ‘the guy.’
