It was only 14 months ago that the Democrats were swept to power on the most important issue facing America. There was nothing in the world more important than for our soldiers to all lay their guns down where they were and, with nary a moment to pack, climb on planes out of Iraq.
Important enough to cut funding. Important enough to commence impeachment proceedings. Important enough to bus tens of thousands of angry, left-wing libtards into Washington who just weren't going to take it anymore. This was Vietnam redux.
......or maybe not.
Now, as the issue has lost it's political salience, liberals don't care about wounded soldiers or dying Iraqis anymore. (not that they ever really did.)
Now, we are back to It's the worst economy since Hoover and we really mean it this time. Volume XXIII.
Oh, don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't think the economy is headed for trouble. I do.
I just think that you have to admire the ability of the liberal screech monkeys to, on a dime, switch hyperbolic tracks. Only a year ago, it was the worst war in the history of the world and now, without missing a beat, they drop that issue like a hot potato and start twirling the economic catastrophe baton in mid cadence. You never even saw them switch hands, did you?
Let's give the Democrats credit. Their ability to exploit the suffering of others is without peer.
It is in the area of actually solving problems to alleviate suffering that we must turn to Republicans.....
For the economic headwinds that we now enter, were foreseeable and preventable. We could be freeing ourselves from foreign oil, they were too busy scoring political points. We could have avoided the sub-prime crunch, they were too busy suppressing consumer confidence to stagnate growth.
Those who can, do. Those who can't, are liberals.
