A NEWT ONE-THE TRUTH SURGE
"Any of the Democratic candidates would love to have Ted Kennedy's support," says Barack Obama. "And we have certainly actively sought it."

Recently, A Newt One was pillared when we stated that Obama had, thus far, run a positive campaign. It was pointed out that you could scan an entire Obama speech and not find one specific detail of what Obama would do as President.

These protestations were unnecessary. We already knew this.

We stated that Obama has run a positive campaign. We didn't say he has run a substantive one. We were only pointing out that his campaign centered around positive themes of hope and unity, rather than the normal fare of hate and venom that we are seeing from the left.

Nevertheless, flowery rhetoric isn't going to solve our nation's problems and Barack Obama is no more prepared and ready to lead our nation than Barney the purple dinosaur.

However, competence is too often the issue that doesn't come into play until the 2nd election. After the honeymoon is over, and President Obama has to actually produce, our nation will realize what a mistake it made. That does little to change the dynamics of this election. Despite irrational optimism from the likes of Dennis Prager, I just don't think that the Republicans can counter the enthusiasm generated by Obama.

I still am cautiously optimistic that we are going to get the Hillary vs McCain matchup that we want. Of the 4 match ups, it is still the best. Of course, there is still the possibility that we wind up with Obama vs Romney. That would not be good.

...but that is why they play the game. Stay tuned. The final round is coming up.
