You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time. Lincoln
Can Obama fool enough people and keep them fooled long enough to secure the Democrat nomination & election in November? Can McCain fool enough people and keep them fooled long enough to secure the Republican nomination & election in November?
If you want good government, you can't sleep until the next primary, caucus or convention and suddenly save the nation. You must begin now, quietly, patiently, to lay the groundwork.
- Identify the Conservatives in your circle of acquaintance. Get each of them to make a list of the Conservatives they are familiar with. Combine your lists.
- Evaluate the lists. Seek people who are intelligent, articulate, industrious & virtuous; men and women who are hard working, honest, sober and faithful to their spouses; who keep their commitments.
- Look for Conservatives currently in city, township or county government who are ready and willing to move up to the state legislature.
- Set up a committee to study your state's election schedule and laws. Learn the filing deadlines and the minimum number of petition signatures required to get on the primary ballot.
- Set up a finance committee to begin quietly lining up donors and plan fund raising events.
- Line up nominees for your school board, city council, planning commissions, etc.
- Study the incumbents. Investigate their voting records, speeches & statements. See how they line up. Are they Conservative, consistent, persistent & steady? Are they ready to be moved up or out?
