A NEWT ONE-THE TRUTH SURGE

American towns not big enough for the few and the proud?

Jimmy Z

(from the not very distant future)

“We don’t take kindly to your kind ‘round here,” said Mayor McCheese to the Marines in town. “Best ya move along.”

Little Johnny LeDouche was curious. “Pa? Who’re them uniformed fellers?”

“Johnny, thems United States Marines,” said Johnny’s Pa, stuffing some tabacky in between his cheek and one of his few remaining teeth. “We ain’t seen ‘em showin’ themselves in the open much of late.”

“Why not, Pa?,” asked Johnny. “I heard tell they’z the good guys!”

Johnny’s Pa spit into the dirt. “Welp, the way I recollect, there was a time where’s the jarheads had their place, boy. Nowadays theyz just troublemakers, bustin’ up homes and shootin’ and raisin’ hell.  They’z become like pirates! Yeah... that’s it, like pirates. Shootin’ and blowin’ things up and causin’ a ruckus just for fun!”

Johnny looked up at one Marine. He stood square, taught; at attention, with his eyes locked forward. He stood motionless. Johnny looked at the uniform and thought how perfect it looked.

“Pa? I want to be proud of myself.” Johnny’s Pa shrugged and spit more tabacky.

Johnny walked through town and saw the protesters gathered at a store front. He shoved in between to screaming woman in pink t shirts. He found the door and entered. “Can I join the US Marines?”

The Sergeant looked at the eleven year old. “Son, you’re not old enough yet, but we’ll make you an honorary jarhead.” They gave Johnny a cap and a t shirt. “Come back in a few years, ok?”

Johnny walked home, singing to himself. “From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli.”

I can’t read anymore of this anti-USMC bullshit. I’ve had it. I’m not even a !@$&?! Marine and it grieves me; what must it be like for an old Leatherneck like my Dad, a full bull Colonel, retired? The sickness the left is suffering from is terminal. It’s comical at first and then you realize, wait a minute, this is the United States Marine Corps they’re denigrating!

There is no group of men and women more dedicated to this country, it’s citizens, and our freedom than the United States Marine Corps. May anyone who seeks to embarrass, besmirch, tarnish or insult any United States Marine burn in hell for it, and I’m not kidding.

For those of you who know better (and the vast majority of Americans do), when you see a Marine, or any enlisted service man or woman in any branch of the military, you thank them for keeping you free.

I mean it. You walk up to them and you thank them -  personally. If they’re in Starbucks you buy them their coffee. If they’re at Denny’s you buy them breakfast. If they’re in the park, you just say, “thank you.”

And you never stop doing it. And if you see anyone with Code Pink on their t shirt, you tell them to !@$&?! clean off. Got that? You have your orders.
