Panic seizes control of Democratic party as McCain is fast approaching insurmountable leads!The magic number in a political poll is 50%. John McCain is on the brink of that level, sporting a fat 7 point lead over Obama. Further, he is past that 50% mark, sporting a 10% lead over Hillary Clinton.
In fact, the only contest seems to be which Democrat can plummet faster.
Polling from Rasmussen Reports shows a Democratic Presidential situation that is getting dire and there doesn't seem to be an obvious way for Democrats to stop the bleeding.
Hillary's support among African Americans has dropped to 55% in the general election matchup!
If Hillary were to win the nomination, and not recover in those numbers, we could well see a mauling of Reagan-Mondale proportions. Democrat support from African Americans is typically 90% or better.
Obama, on the other hand, draws just 36% of White support in a matchup with McCain. Yet, how can Democrats nominate Hillary, who now has a net favorable of -12 vs McCain's +10!?
Expecting a sunny sail into the White House, based on Iraq, Democrats appear to be sailing head-on into a Tsunami.
