One month ago today, the Democrats had a 49 point lead in The Electoral College projections on Rasmussen Reports. That lead is now 1. When ''leaners'' were included, the Democratic lead was 45, it is now 7.The projection is a lagging indicator because it relies on the election markets, as well as historical trends and current polling. If only polling were used, McCain is leading.
Add Wisconsin (10 electoral votes) to the list of Blue States that Rasmussen has shown McCain leading at least 1 of the prospective democrats in. The others are Oregon (11), New Jersey(15), Michigan (17) and Pennsylvania (21). A McCain victory in any 1 of those 5 would be curtains for the Dems.
