If I can contort my mind enough to imagine being something so hideously grotesque, I should imagine that my choice would be rather easy. I would base my decision on two objective criteria.- What are the rules in place to determine who is the winner?
- Is there a clear, prohibitive leader according to those rules?
Obama has a prohibitive lead in State victories, pledged delegates and the popular vote. In short, Hillary can not win the nomination, she can only have it given to her as a gift. That bears re-emphasis- It is a mathematical impossibility for Hillary Clinton to win the Democratic nomination. In the words of liberals circa 2001, Hillary cannot secure the nomination by election but only by selection.
If she is selected, the Obama supporters will (rightly) cry racism.
This whole ugly affair is a textbook example of how Democrats lack the moral courage to lead this nation. For, if the Democratic Super delegates had any integrity or moral courage, they would immediately line up behind Obama in sufficient numbers to clinch his nomination. This would require about 500 or so of the roughly 800 available Super delegates.
Why won't they? because they fear the backlash from the millions of Hillary supporters who simply will not support Obama. Legitimate fears on an emotional level.
Understand this, Hillary is not preventing Obama's victory, the Super delegates are. Since opinion polls are-once again- showing Obama more competitive vs McCain, they may very well move to him soon. Yet, it will be based on current polling and not at all on tallied victories starting on January 3rd. If Hillary recovers in the polls and overtakes Obama, she-not he- will be the nominee.
It underscores the depravity that it is to be a liberal. Just win. Political expediency above all....even if it means throwing your own legitimate winner under the bus.
