For nearly 8 years, we have been hearing that blathering class wail on about how the winner of the popular vote should be the winner of the election, regardless of what the law has been since our nation's birth. On October 9th of last year, yours truly took a babbling idiot defender of such lunacy apart.How much do the liberals really believe this and how much is sour election 2000 grapes? We may very well see in 2008. For, with Hillary surging it is likely that she will win Pennsylvania, and a number of other states, by wide margins. She cannot overtake Obama in the pledged delegate count but will likely overtake him in the popular vote count.
If that turns out to be the scenario, will the Dems anoint Hillary their standard bearer based on her winning the popular vote? Will Super Delegates abandon Obama and his superior fundraising ability, charisma and swooning masses? This is not even to mention the race based backlash.
Don't bet on it. The liberals are committed to but one principle-power. They will commit to the person they think can win. Once again, their hypocrisy will be laid bare.
