And, they are correct. The problem is not the oil companies turning a profit. It is the Leftinistra owl kissers and tree lickers and the folks that lose sleep over the amoebas and microbes. This nation hasn't built a new refinery in 40+ years and the modernization of refineries is dismally pathetic. Why? Congress. Congress has bowed to the Global Warming Myth for as long as I can remember.

Global warming is the political Jihad being utilized by greedy sycophants like Al Gore.

Jimmy Z - Here's a bit from the New York Times. Once again, the doom and gloom liberals have nothing better to do than to lie to Americans. It only makes sense that the earth's temperature would rise and fall, since all of nature that God designed is in flux, moving up and down, higher and lower, rising and falling. It would be problematic IF the earth's temperature would be staying exactly the same all the time.

You will remember, if you're as old as I am, that the earth was cooling when we were kids, and we were taught that the earth was headed to a new ice age. I thought, 'cool!' But now we're going to burn up. [...]

Back in 1970, Manhattan was going to be under water. By 1973, the next ice age was soon upon us. By 1980, Manhattan was going to be under water. By 1990, Manhattan was going to be under water. I don't know what happened in 2000 but Manhattan wasn't under water but by God, in 2006, Al Gore told us all that we had 10 years to fix the planet. I mentioned all of the above to say this...the Leftinistra will use the profits made by Capitalists to pay for fraudulent schemes to appease the very people that are to blame for the "dependence" on foreign and domestic oil. That is what this charade is all about and how appropriate is it that it took place on April Fool's Day 2008?

Our CONgress Critters have wasted BILLIONS of American Dollars on ignorant and fraudulent schemes and have kept the American People in the dark - no pun intended. We could have had nuclear power plants. We could have gotten free of foreign oil decades ago. It will take 30+ years to get free of foreign oil if we start drilling for our own oil under our own soil TODAY. In the meanwhile, we can develop alternate fuel sources - I am all for that. Placing the blame on the oil companies for the world glut on scarce oil - due to most of it in the Middle east - go figure that one out - is so disingenuous, it isn't funny anymore. It is flat-out pathetic.

We are being snookered by a Cultural Jihad on our sensibilities and logic by frauds that occupy the Dishonorable Halls Of CONgress with con artists that will not accept responsibilities for their own actions over the last 40+ years.

That is the bottom line. The oil companies operate on about 9 > 11 percent profit margin which is just about industry-wide norms for corporations in the US. The charade yesterday is a disgrace and a laughing stock.
