A NEWT ONE-THE TRUTH SURGE
~Snooper~

"If a well-regulated militia be the most natural defense of a free country, it ought certainly to be under the regulation and at the disposal of that body which is constituted the guardian of the national security. If standing armies are dangerous to liberty, an efficacious power over the militia in the same body ought, as far as possible, to take away the inducement and the pretext to such unfriendly institutions. If the federal government can command the aid of the militia in those emergencies which call for the military arm in support of the civil magistrate, it can the better dispense with the employment of a different kind of force. If it cannot avail itself of the former, it will be obliged to recur to the latter. To render an army unnecessary will be a more certain method of preventing its existence than a thousand prohibitions upon paper." -- Alexander Hamilton (Federalist No. 29, 10 January 1788)
Just thought I'd throw that one in to add to the discussion.

The Politico says that there are Six ways the GOP can save itself. In short, here is the list:
1. Get a clue
2. Cut the crap
3. Beg for help
4. Burn the Bush
5. Change the pitch - and your face
6. Fan the fear
The Mighty Knight and myself had a lengthy discussion yesterday and we were going to talk about these issues on my BTR show last night but, BTR, the sorry platform which it is, tanked and the show was canceled. We discussed what a Winning GOP Strategy would be and why the GOP would not use it. As we were talking and ranting, in the back of my mind the Politico piece was reverberating between my ears, a sometimes scary experience. Nevertheless, whereas I don't whole heartedly agree with the Politico's assessment, there are several crushing truths within the article. Feel free to visit the linked article and then return here to review that which I have written to add my two-cents to the Six Ways.

#1...Get A Clue: if one takes the Politico's writings as gospel truth, one will miss the Real Deal. The GOP doesn't need to "cook up some new ideas" at all. What they need to do is return to the Reagan Era Conservatism that propelled the GOP back into prominence and set the socialist liberals back for decades. So, the "new idea" can be construed as returning to its roots and that is the Conservative American., democrat, republican and independent alike. The DNC has figured that out and in recent elections, they won elections by running conservative democrats against RINO idiots...turn-coat jerk-off republicans that are as liberal as perhaps Barack and Hillary. Across America, when voters are offered a Liberal or a Conservative, they choose a conservative because Americans are conservative and there are a scant few - in comparison - that are socialists. Period.

Another part of this Get A Clue thing is to knock it off with the Play Nice garbage. Socialist liberals do not play nice with anyone, even amongst their own kind - reference the current quagmire within the DNC. KNOCK KNOCK! Pay attention GOP. If McCain thinks he is going to win by playing nice-nice, I hope he is prepared for a thrashing...I am. In conjunction with this, the GOP has been pathetically inept in getting the message across when the press and the socialist liberal repeatedly announce that Bush lied and thousands died lie. If I were in this Administration in an advisory roll, this lie being presented by the socialist liberals would have been eliminated years ago...that's because I don't fear anyone and I will get in your face. Then again, I am not a Compassionate Conservative which equates to a Moderate Liberal.

Yes. Get a clue and fight back. Being nice is just plain stupid.

#2...Cut The Crap: In essence, see #1. For example, as the socialist liberal marches lock-step to the left of Stalin, the republicans are marching lock-step to the left of conservatism and have become the liberals of 20 or 30 years ago. Thus, we have republicans acting just like the rampant scandalous democrats of yore. This has created a bad taste amongst the American Conservatives...2006 elections a primary example. Even though the GOP does act immediately in regards to renouncing their members for acting unbecomingly as a Public Servant, it isn't what it once was. The DNC awards their own for scandalous acts and they get re-elected and/or appointed to "cooler" committees. The GOP needs to return to being more attentive to this and point out the DNC Double Standard in this regard.

#3...Beg For Help: Not hardly. Had the GOP not turned their backs on the Ronald Wilson Reagan Conservative Legacy; had they not, as Knight pointed out, turned their backs on those of us that have not turned from that Legacy but stuck with it - because it works and brings growth and prosperity second to none - the GOP would not have been clobbered in 2006. The GOP learned NOTHING from the 2006 trouncing. Nothing. They kept on keeping on and the GOP is where it is today because they turned their backs on Conservative America. It really is that simple. So, begging isn't going to cut it. Returning to the Contract With America is where they need to go and anything shy of that equates to utter and complete implosion and failure.

#4...Burn The Bush: This is short-sighted in my opinion. The reasons are many why I think this but, be that as it may, the central issue here is the cancer of Political Correctness. In a larger sense, turning one's back on President Bush is tantamount to surrendering to the idiots that say Bush lied and the war is an illegal war and many other lies from the socialist anti-Americanist. None of that is true but, due to the panzies within the GOP, unable to fight their own battles, they turn tail and run away as cowards so often do. Turning away from President Bush in a time of war is a pathetic move and garners zero respect from me, a warrior in this war. Those that espouse such a move can rot in hell as far as this warrior is concerned and I hope they lose their re-election bids. With friends like that, who in the hell needs them?

#5...Change the Pitch - And Your Face: It is a well-known fact that Conservatives are much happier and more well adjusted than anyone withing the socialist liberal anti-Americanist crowds. Conservatives don't fire-bomb fellow citizens. Conservatives don't pretend to be "peace activists" and then turn around and attack their opposition with violent escapades. Idiots that bomb abortion clinics aren't conservatives; they are of the same genre of sycophants that make up groups like Code Skank Bitch Sluts.

So, in essence, see #1. Return to Reagan Era Conservatism and the victories will pour in. By the way, no matter how one cuts it or tries to explain it away, McCain is not a Reagan Era Conservative. Duncan Hunter, Fred Thompson and Gov Gilmore are but the GOP, long ago, decided that McCain is going to be the GOP nominee...and that is an inside scoop that I have in my possession and one day, I am going to print it. I am going to use it as my own "see, I told you so" gig.

#6...Fan The Fear: Absurd in its inception and disingenuous at best. At worst, this dogma is a dismal failure in reality checks. Since when is reality fear? Since when is the List of 45 not a fact? Since when is the re-installation of the Caliphate process not a fact? Fear Mongering is Global Warming...a damn proven myth, GWB and McCain not withstanding. The GOP hates the elderly is Fear Mongering. The GOP doesn't want Americans to have health insurance is Fear Mongering. Need I go on? Thank you, I shall.

GWB has shred the Constitution is Fear Mongering when the very tenets and credo of the DNC is diametrically opposed to the United States Constitution in all facets and ramifications. To prove this, name me ONE "campaign issue" that the DNC can reconcile with the United States Constitution and I will register as a Democrat. Go for it.

George Bush and Dick Cheney are going to "cancel the 2008 elections" is Fear Mongering. Ron Paul's idiocy is Fear Mongering. The GOP doesn't want young people to have an education is Fear Mongering. The country needs a military draft is Fear Mongering and is an insult to us warriors. Those that chant that nonsense haven't a clue even if their intentions are sincere.
Well, that concludes this rant for the time being. Be that as it may, the GOP today is the idiot Liberal from 20+ years ago and they deserve everything that comes their way in 2008 if they don't get their collective asses together and on the same damn page. As most of you know, that frequent this blog, my old blog(s) and my BTR shows, know that I am a registered Independent having been burned as a Democrat in the Carter years and as a Republican post Reagan.

There are some that say that perhaps it will be a good lesson for the GOP if they were to be thrashed this November and lose 100 seats in the Lower House, 40 seats in the Senate and the White House. Whereas I can sympathize with the frustration that brings that sentiment to the fore, I cannot agree and I am adamantly opposed to such frivolous and emotional tirades. If we were not embroiled in a Global War On Terror as 90% of the country was behind "in the beginning" including the politicians that occupy DC, I could go along with that nonsense. However, we are in a war that WE DID NOT START but must end it once and for all.

The enemy must come to realize that their attacks on the United States will not be tolerated. Period. This war started in 1974 and the GOP has been in error not making that known beyond a reasonable doubt. The State Department needs to be disbanned. Condi Rice needs to shut the hell up and Carter needs to be publicly flogged and condemned. Anti-Americanists in this country - the enemies within - need to be rounded up and shipped to countries where they may be happier instead of screwing this one up so it soon resembles a third world nation.
