In a previous post here, JimmyZ brought us a quote from Rush in regards to Obama's upcoming major rout in his Presidential bid:
Obama is said to be THE most liberal Senator serving in the very dishonorable laughing stock halls of the current defective CONgress. Even more so than Hillary or Dukakis? Is this some kind of DNC Benchmark in which to be proud? This is a bizarre revelation to say the least...or most, depending on your political punditry.
Susan Estrich writes a piece which can be found at Real Clear Politics...she was on the Dukakis campaign and in this piece, she defends Dukakis and is also defending Obama. She claims that none of the "accusations" were true about Dukakis and the current accustaions directed at Obama and his nutty bride are equally untrue. This is nonsense due to the fact of public record. Obama, as Dukakis are to the very far left and I will add left of Lenin and Stalin albeit an Americanized version. This is what destroyed Dukakis and it will sink Obama. Behold:
To a leftists, patriotism has no concrete definitive acclamation nor does it hold water to scrutiny. Their version of patriotism is a living and breathing cause which can mean what they want it to mean when they find a definition convenient at the moment. Listen to this pathetic whining:
What color would these "progressives" like for us to paint Obama? Remember, when one paints a turd any color, the fact remains that the turd is still a turd, albeit a pretty turd. It will look all pretty and cute and smell like fresh paint. However, the underlying fact is this...the turd is just under the surface.
The article ends with so much deceptive whining that an individual not well versed into the machinations of "progressive" idiocy will miss it:
Free-thinkers laugh and scoff at these kinds of polls. Idiocy becomes them.
By all rhyme and reason, as explained in my previous article here, this SHOULD be yet another GOP landslide as we saw in the Reagan years. If we want double digit inflation and unemployment, go ahead and elect either Obama or Hillary or don't vote for McCain...you will deserve everything that comes your way and I will mock you.
The battle ground is no longer in the presidency because the President is no longer the perceived leader of that particular political party. The battle ground is in Congress. Remember this for as long as you live.

"McGovern is backing Obama now because, in his lifetime, he wants to see somebody lose worse than he did."Indeed. For the uninitiated and the uneducated (not as in schooling but as in experience) Dukakis lost bad as did Mondale in their bids for the Presidency. Dukakis was the cause fatale in renaming liberals as progressives (of their own doing) because Dukakis gave the liberals of the time a very distasteful reputation. Not that liberals needed all that assistance or anything, but...

It is a thought that sends shivers down the backs of Democrats, a name that brings to mind memories of an election lost that might have been won, against a war hero once referred to in headlines as a "wimp" who won not so much by his own strengths but because of the skill of his operatives in painting his lesser-known opponent as an out of touch "liberal" who refused to salute the flag or admit his mistakes, not to mention his supposedly unpatriotic wife. The answer, obviously is a hearty yes. The leftist apologists wil deny it all because that is what they do...deny truth, claim it all to be a rightist play and then once in office, figure all is well. We are on to them and will expose it all.
Could Obama be another Dukakis? [...]
To a leftists, patriotism has no concrete definitive acclamation nor does it hold water to scrutiny. Their version of patriotism is a living and breathing cause which can mean what they want it to mean when they find a definition convenient at the moment. Listen to this pathetic whining:
[...] There is no question that the Republicans will try to do to Obama what they did to Dukakis: paint him as a liberal, out of touch with the values of average (white) Americans, so far left that he has left America. [...]Das ist aber schade, von Obama...es ist, was es ist. Periode. Ende der Diskussion. Das ist zu schlecht. (That is however unfortunate, of Obama… it is, which it is. Period. End of the discussion. That is too bad.)
What color would these "progressives" like for us to paint Obama? Remember, when one paints a turd any color, the fact remains that the turd is still a turd, albeit a pretty turd. [...] But the most important difference between Obama and Dukakis has absolutely nothing to do with the two men, or their primary opponents, or the issues that did or did not get raised. It's the difference between where the country was then, and where it is now. In June 1988, a majority of Americans thought the country was on the right track. Although the wrong track numbers had been higher earlier in the year, by the summer they turned around. Americans were pleased with the direction of the country. Today, the equivalent numbers are 80% wrong track. Ask any pollster and they'll tell you that there is no better indication of which party will win an election than the right track-wrong track numbers. This should be a Democratic year. Obama, if he is the candidate, will face a negative machine. But in the end, that machine cannot change the way people feel about the direction the country is heading, or the party that is responsible for it. [END]Holy cow. That right there is worthy of a multitude of posts and articles. I agree that the country is on the wrong track. It is tracking more and more to the left and this fact flies in the face of our Constitution. To say the the "wrong track" is to the right is flatly untrue. I have read the poll questions and as most pollsters do, they ask questions and offer no definitive explanations. "Is the country on the wrong track? yes or no?" I answer, no but the reasons of the answers are never revealed except those published by the pollsters. Pollsters and those that live by the polls deserve everything that comes their way.
Free-thinkers laugh and scoff at these kinds of polls. Idiocy becomes them.
