Since it was Snooper's show today and he was giving a farewell of sorts to SonlitKnight, I gave him the decision whether or not to read this on the air. I will post it here now, in case he did not get to it. --Jimmy Z

Dear Friends and associates of A Newt One,

I won't be joining in the show tonight because I don't want to take any chance that the friction which has tainted some of our shows lately would rise again. But I do wish to say a few things about SonlitKnight and A Newt One.

A Newt One was begun 3 years ago by SonlitKnight in response to a lot of crummy people in a left wing chat room. Our first idea was to start our own reasonable chat room, called A New Tone.

When the most aggressive of the nasty leftwingers began calling our site "A Newt One" in an effort to insult us, the Knight upended them and embraced the name calling, changing our site officially to A Newt One, and we morphed from a chat room into a full blown blog. It has been A Newt One ever since, and A Newt One became a powerhouse blog through later teaming up with Snooper, among many others, to create a blog with great readability and a very inviting variety of styles and content; not to mention an enormous leap in hits.

I won't rehash the events of the past week and a half, because most of you know something about it, and my version would be different from Sonlit's version, and Sonlit's version would be different from Snooper's version, and so on.

The most disturbing aspect of this for me was that someone like Loki, who has my utmost respect for the brilliant mind that he brings to Blog Talk Radio and his simple, easy going attitude, simply cannot be a part of American Truth Warriors because this kind of infighting is something he simply detests.

I have felt for a long time that The Knight was the centerpiece of the blog and blog talk radio shows, even with Snooper posting the lion's share of content at A Newt One. When the Knight speaks, he does so with a great deal of time invested in analysis. He is able to speak clearly and succinctly about the thoughts that are flowing through his mind. I have told him many times that I have never spoken to anyone who can express his political opinion, and support it, better than he. I have learned much from him over the years.

I am no fan of what is happening at A Newt One at this point in time. I take no pleasure at all in this. I did not hope for anyone's demise. I have no desire to see anyone leave this partnership. I don't want to be a manager or the head guy, and I have enjoyed the fact that A Newt One has always been a team of equals pursuing the same conservative goals.

A Newt One came upon a huge philosophical divide a week and a half ago, and that divide has caused a lot of mayhem in our various appearances - both on the blog and on our webcast radio shows. This is enormously regrettable. As I said, there is no one on this planet I respect more in terms of online political commentary than SonlitKnight. One thing I do know, however, is that we must get to a point where people can read A Newt One and listen to American Truth Warriors without the battle between philosophies going on constantly. It's been a downer for a lot of folks. And know this: I am not blaming anyone in particular for all of this, but I do accept my share of the blame. I am as interested in convincing folks that I am right as SonlitKnight is interested in convincing them that he is right.

It is my most sincere wish that SonlitKnight might find his way to rejoining A Newt One someday. If that doesn't happen, it will be our loss. It will be MY loss.

And I am sorry, Sir Knight, that this whole thing went into a high speed tail spin the way it did. I am just sick about it.

I wish you the best of everything. Bill Keller sends his very best, and he and I will be praying for God to bless you in all your pursuits.

And to friends and fans of A Newt One, I am sorry for any part I've had in making our site less fun for you. I would be foolish to think that I wasn't part of the escalation of incendiary verbiage. I promise to do all I can to make this blog fun and information filled once again.

Sincerely,
Jimmy Z
