Nigerian oil output is down today in the wake of an attack on a pipeline there.
U.S. crude rose more than one-dollar a barrel to around 136-dollars a barrel on the news. A state governor says local residents blew up a pipeline operated by Italian oil company Eni. The official says, quote, "the amount of crude affected was not too significant." But Eni says it shut down 47-thousand barrels per day of production after two pipelines suffered a sudden loss of pressure. The incident was the second in as many days by community members. The attacks have been increasing as militants and local residents try to gain greater control of resources. Nigeria is the world's eighth-largest oil exporter. [...] Click HERE
