If the hearing comes off as scheduled, it will be against the urging of the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC).. Lets all express our support for this act of resistance. Here is the text of my email:

Thank you for having the courage to call Steven Emerson as a witness to testify about terrorism. I understand that ISNA & MPAC have applied pressure to censor truthful testimony and I respect your courage in resisting that pressure. Terrorism is a tactic, not an enemy. It is a function of sacramental doctrine, not of poverty, deprivation, illiteracy or ignorance. Your committee and the congress should study the actual sources of terrorism, which include Surahs 8, 9, 33 & 59 of the Qur'an and these ahadith: Bukhari 1.7.331 & 4.52.220. All of those sources are documented, with links to souce, in an on line petition, with 1108 signatures: http://www.petitiononline.com/ckd2005/ .

Terrorism & genocide are subsets of Jihad, the Islamic law of which is laid down in the Qur'an and explicated in The Reliance of the Traveler, Book O, Chapter 9. You can find it quoted and linked in many of my blog posts. Search for O-9.8: The Objectives of Jihad.
