The Democrats are now doing exactly what I predicted they would do, as early as 2004. You recall that, from the very start of military operations in 2003, all the way through the spring of last year, the Liberal message was;
- we're doomed.
- we can't win.
- it's a civil war.
- the war is lost.
- bring home the troops.
In 2004, I boldly predicted that the days would come when victory would be at hand. I predicted that, once the prospect of certain victory became too clear to be denied, the Liberals would suddenly shift positions and embrace that victory. In fact, I predicted, that Liberals, who fought every inch of that victory- kicking and screaming- would have the audacity to claim it as there own.
Those predictions, I have boldly made since 2004. The dawn of their fulfillment is nigh.
Notice the sharp change in rhetoric from the days of the war is lost.
As even the Iraqi government smells victory enough to begin talking about US Troops drawing down in numbers, Liberals like Barack Obama are crediting their own endless cut and run rhetoric as the cause. They claim that it was the threat of troop reductions that caused the Iraqi people to step up. The Democrats presumptive nominee-himself- has now stated that pulling troops out of Iraq would be "turning the Country over to a Sovereign Government". How far we have come from the days of the intractible quagmire. Liberals now claim that they have caused this new reality to emerge. They are trying to sell America on the notion that the NEW new direction in Iraq is the one that has brought victory at long last.
You and I know, of course, that the reverse is true. The fact that Bush ignored left wingers calls for surrender and, in fact, increased troop levels, while implementing a far more aggressive Counter insurgency strategy, is why we have entered the mop-up phase of this mission.
Everything the Liberals predicted was wrong- all of it. From the 50,000 body bag predictions at the outset, to the NO WMD to the manipulated intelligence to the no-ties to Al-Queda to the Civil war to the war is lost. Every bit of what Liberals claimed was proven false.
Now, we must prepare for 20 years of historic revisionism about how the Liberals liberated Iraq. Don't count on Republicans to set the record straight.
