Return
to top Time to brace for impact, the crash is imminent. TRACKBACK There comes a point in each battle when it is won or it is lost. Sometimes that decision isn't made until the very last stroke and sometimes it is effectively over much earlier. We have reached such a time. Tomorrow's McCain debate is irrelevant. The numbers have hardened and the election has passed the point of no return. A full 45% of all American voters have made up their mind that they are defiantly voting for Obama. 7 of the remaining 55% are leaning towards him. Generic numbers, Senate numbers, House numbers and Presidential numbers, which all made a dramatic late-summer rally for Republicans, are in a titanic collapse. There is no way that a plausible argument can now be made to suggest a recovery. The GOP is just taking on way too much water. Any one denying that now is simply in denial. All the GOP can do now is brace for the impact, absorb the blow and, then survey the damage and start the long process of recovery. In the next few days, I will be posting- for what it's worth- my proposed ideas for Republican renewel. I will be submitting them to prominent GOP members who I think could implement them. The Presidential race was winnable. John McCain bears full responsability for blowing it. Nevertheless, we must look optimistically toward the future. The future for the GOP can be very bright. ~Sonlit | |
