For the last few days there has been an ongoing debate on American Truth Warriors. The topic of this is, should we allow John McCain to lead this country for the next 4 years or Barack Obama? On one side they would rather see Barack lead this country down a path towards destruction therefore making it a sure thing that a conservative will be elected in 2012. The other side talks about the damage that Obama can do to this country during that time.
It seems that the one big argument is that Obama can appoint as many as 4 Justices to the Supreme Court, which in turn can direct how this country heads for up to 30 years. It is argued that 4 out of 5 of the oldest Justices are ones of Liberal thinking, so how much damage can Obama actually do to the Court? That is actually a very good argument.
However, one has only to look at the history of this country to know that there are other ways of accomplishing this takeover of the Court, to get their agenda pushed through. In 1937, FDR wanted Congress to make a mandatory age limit on the Justices, of 70 years old. If the Justices refused to step down at that time another Justice would be appointed to serve a concurrent term, but would stay on the bench after the other Justice had left. And that Justice would be replaced. This would have increased the number, of the Supreme Court, to 15.
This proposal had allot of support in the Democrat led Congress until Senate Majority Leader Joseph T. Robinson (D-AR) left the senate chambers with chest pains and died. Robinson was the major backer in the Senate. Eight days after Robinson's death the Senate defeated this measure 70-20.
One has to also remember that the Democrats of 1937 are not the Democrats of 2008. If Obama is elected President and he has a Democrat Congress, what is going to stop him for calling for the increase in the size of the Supreme Court to 11, 13 or even 15? Does the Democrat party have the integrity to view the rights of the American people as their number one mission, or is the party and the world community their number one priority? We could actually see damage to the way this country is governed that would take decades to overcome.
Our very own Blue Star mother, and Band of Mothers Founder Beverly Perlson, is heading back to the nation's capital to turn up the heat on Speaker Pelosi and the rest of Congress. For several months now, she has stood on the corner in front of the Canon Office Building during high profile votes.
On 8, 9, and 10 July she will be back with patriotic music and signs telling Congress to do the right thing concerning our brave warriors in the desert. We are asking any of you in the D.C. area to consider giving up a few hours one of those days. We recognize that it is a Tuesday through Thursday, work days for those of us who pay for the machinery of the country. Bev will be out there from 0900 to 1700 hrs though come rain or come shine.
Please consider a few hours to support Bev and the brave troops who make our way of life possible. I will personally take the train in one afternoon to stand with her. I've always said three things:
1) I'll never ask any of you to do anything I won't do, 2) We don't all need to do every thing, we just all need to do one thing and 3) Not only would the men and women in the desert do it for you, They Already Are.

Today's 5 to 4 decision upholding our gun rights in the Second Amendment is just too close to take any comfort from it.
If you decide that you believe we should allow Barack Nobama to win the White House so that Americans 'realize how bad democrats are', you are quite likely turning over your right to own a gun forever.

First of all, let me say with all due respect that making any voting decision 'final' so many months before the election is preposterous. There are so many things yet to happen before the day of reckoning, I cannot fathom anyone making a 'final decision' this early in the game.
Further, it was a post entitled "Why I will not vote for John McCain," which was followed up by the Snooper and Robert posts arguing FOR McCain, after which The Knight deemed it necessary to augment his previous post with another longer post, "Mine was not an easy decision to make but I believe It was the right one. " Now, if someone needs to RE-explain his position, that must mean that the explanation was not made convincingly the first time around.
I will argue now that no one can EVER make any argument to vote FOR the marxist Barack Nobama (and by voting against McCain you are in fact voting FOR the marxist Barack Nobama.)
[SIDEBAR: And in case anyone thinks this is getting a little heavy handed, it is absolutely not. I am certain that my friend SonlitKnight would not want me to soft-ball the issue for his benefit.]
Let me state this clearly and without any ambiguity: NOT SUPPORTING McCAIN IS IN FACT SUPPORTING THE MARXIST NOBAMA.

Anything anyone does at this point that encourages any American from voting for John McCain is offering support to the democrats in general and to Barack Nobama specifically. The fact of the matter is that McCain is not perfect. McCain might be the ugliest Republican who has run for the White House in... forever.
However, we have no choice but to support him and support him fervently.
To say that we conservatives would benefit by having four years of a communist in the White House because we'd win four years later is f***ing LUDICROUS. It is not rational. It is not logical. The damage Nobama could do in four years isn't even questionable. With a gaggle of democrats in congress, Nobama's ability to shape the US Supreme Court into their leftist vision, and hand out - for instance - a s**t-load of health care to 12 million illegal aliens (and encourage more to stream into our country), Nobama could do more damage than we could clean up in four generations.
If a John McCain Presidency won't move our cause forward, certainly a Nobama Presidency could damage it permanently. Conservatives ought not be torn at all. It's very clear - as clear as the fact that the sun sets in the west: McCain is the infinitely better choice than Barack Nobama. It's not even close.
The men and women who fought for this country in World War II were not fighting for the right of Nobama to change this nation into a third rate socialist state. This is not going to happen on my watch.
Listen up and listen good: ANYONE who votes for Nobama is voting against freedom and liberty, and anyone who votes against John McCain is voting for Barack Nobama.

The Iraqi military has stepped up and so has it's fledgling government. Left wing attempts to sabotage that effort have failed.
Just as John McCain is wholly unworthy of succeeding his predecessor, George HW Bush was equally unworthy of his. In 4 short years, HW- easily one of the biggest idiots in American history- dismantled the Reagan revolution. He wrecked our economy with a huge, destructive tax increase. He wrecked our stature worldwide, and postponed inevitable conflict, by pulling out of Iraq and watching the Kurds get massacred. banned oil exploration off shore and he gave us David Souter.
Worse yet, He gave us 8 years of the Clintons who did so much catastrophic damage to our country that it is still being calculated. Among the carnage of the Clintonistra regime was the policy that caused 9/11 and two of the idiots in black robes- Ginsberg and Breyer- who weep for terrorists and child rapists.
All of that damage was avoidable. Reagan handed Bush a country that was strong and an economy that was sound. All 41 had to do was keep it between the buoys. Could he do that? No. Why? because he was a moron.
Now, I hear that I am to go to the polls in November and vote for a far grander moron- John McCain. John McCain who, more than almost any other "Republican", is responsible for helping to sabatoge the Bush Presidency and the larger Conservative agenda.
When Bush was trying to revive a sagging economy with tax cuts and incentives, there was McCain, kniffing him in the back. When Bush and Rumsfeld were prosecuting the war on terror, there was McCain, going on the Sunday talk shows, attacking them and accusing them of torture.
It matters little that McCain was right about the surge because McCain was one of the chorus of hyenas that made the surge necessary by his constant public criticism.
McCain was also one of those who told us that we would swallow the amnesty bill and like it. He is, likewise, trying to force Kyoto down our throats. Despite $142 oil and $4 gasoline, McCain still opposes drilling in most of America.
We should not be in this position.
In January of 2005, we had 29 Republican governors, 232 Republican House members, A President re-elected with 62 million votes, holding a 55% approval rating and 55- yes FIFTY FIVE Republican Senators.
How did we lose it?

I have made my final decision, after months of agonizing self-debate.
In the end, the question of "What will I do on November 4th?" is always followed by "What will I do on November 5th?". Can I really spend the next 4 years of my life defending the indefensible? I cannot.
The real question is "Does John McCain deserve to be the 44th President of the United States?". Not one of my friends and fellow Conservatives will say yes. What does that leave? Do I vote for him just because he claims to be a Republican? That makes me no better than the trash voting for Obama just because he is a Marxist.
Hard days lie ahead. Of that I am certain. However, I feel it is best for our country and our party that they learn a lesson they will never forget.
You would think 2006 would have been enough. Obviously, it wasn't. John McCain is almost as much of an idiot as Obama is. It's time to punt. Let's regroup and put a pro-troop, Pro-America slate up in 2012.

I read claims by Muslims in the light of Islam's canon of scripture, tradition, law & commentary.
I actually saw it as laying a foundation for dialog between people of the two faiths. The document was actually showing that Christianity has as its roots, monotheism, even if some within Christianity have erred into bi or tri-theism.
Islam has a monologue, not a dialog. Since Islam declares itself to be superior, the only true religion, and denigrates all others, it only speaks, it does not listen except for whimpers of surrender.
I also saw within the document, the most hopeful part I might add, an statement to the effect that Christians and Jews who remain within monotheism and obey the two Commandments--love God and love your neighbor do not need to convert to Islam to be of the faithful.
Both Judaism & Christianity are monotheistic. Educated Christians know that the trinity is three manifestations of one deity, not three deities. Muslims play selective word games against us.
2:62. Verily! Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and do righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve . [The Meaning of Mu'min, or Believer]
3:119. Lo! You are the ones who love them but they love you not, and you believe in all the Scriptures [i.e. you believe in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel), while they disbelieve in your Book, the Qur'an]. And when they meet you, they say, "We believe". But when they are alone, they bite the tips of their fingers at you in rage. Say: "Perish in your rage. Certainly, Allah knows what is in the breasts (all the secrets)."
9:29. Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allah, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islam) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
9:30. And the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: Messiah is the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old. Allah's Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth!
Read Ibn Kathir's Tafsir of 2:62, linked after the verse above. That tafsir quotes 3:85, an extremely lucid expression of Islam's intolerance. Allah cursed us and declared perpetual war upon us, which is reflected in Sharia.
O-9.8: The Objectives of Jihad The caliph(o-25)makes war upon Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians(N: provided he has first invited them to enter Islam in faith and practice, and if they will not, then invited them to enter the social order of Islam by paying the non-Muslim poll tax (jizya, def: o-11.4) -which is the significance of their paying it, not the money itself-while remaining in their ancestral religions) (O: and the war continues) until they become Muslim or else pay the non-Muslim poll tax (O: in accordance with the word of Allah Most High, "Fight those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day and who forbid not what Allah and His messenger have forbidden-who do not practice the religion of truth, being of those who have been given the Book-until they pay the poll tax out of hand and are humbled" (Koran 9.29)...
A genuine, sincerely professed peace overture would violate Allah's ordinance, subjecting the Ulema to eternal damnation.
I would say that this is highly significant. This is actually setting a precedent for monotheistic pluralism. Although, yes, Christians and Muslims have much to talk about in regards to our understanding of Jesus and his nature. True biblical faith Christians should have no doubts about their monotheism and thus, we can move forward in sharing from the Scriptures about some of our differences in understanding regarding other shared terms, such as the Gospel (Injil), the Word of God (Kalimatullah), and Messiah (al-Masih).
Lastly, Islam and its use ofJihad found in the Qur'an is purely of a defensive nature, similar to Augustine's just war. Many of the Scriptures being used by jihadis are taken out of their historical and even Qur'anic context. One ayat or verse is used, but all you have to do is read one verse before or after and you will discover that there are conditions being drawn both for when you are allowed to attack and when you are compelled to cease fighting.
Purely defensive?
2:190. And fight in the Way of Allah those who fight you, but transgress not the limits. Truly, Allah likes not the transgressors.
2:191. And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah is worse than killing. And fight not with them at Al-Masjid-al-Haram (the sanctuary at Makkah), unless they (first) fight you there. But if they attack you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.
22:39. Permission to fight is given to those (i.e. believers against disbelievers), who are fighting them, (and) because they (believers) have been wronged, and surely, Allah is Able to give them (believers) victory
Those three ayat are obviously related to defensive warfare, but 9:29, quoted above and cited in Sharia as the basis for annual military expeditions against Kuffar, is clearly aggressive in nature. Why take my word for this? See what Ibn Kathir wrote about it.
This honorable Ayah was revealed with the order to fight the People of the Book, after the pagans were defeated, the people entered Allah's religion in large numbers, and the Arabian Peninsula was secured under the Muslims' control. Allah commanded His Messenger to fight the People of the Scriptures, Jews and Christians, on the ninth year of Hijrah, and he prepared his army to fight the Romans and called the people to Jihad announcing his intent and destination
That ain't defensive warfare! Moe himself confirms this fact.
Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 8, Number 387: Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Apostle said, "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah." Narrated Maimun ibn Siyah that he asked Anas bin Malik, "O Abu Hamza! What makes the life and property of a person sacred?" He replied, "Whoever says, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah', faces our Qibla during the prayers, prays like us and eats our slaughtered animal, then he is a Muslim, and has got the same rights and obligations as other Muslims have."
