The Inspiration Behind "Trolls"

Last night, prior to posting "Trolls", I was catching up on my reading from all the sources I subscribe to. One of my favorite radio hosts is Dennis Prager because he refuses to argue, preferring understanding to agreement.

I happen to think along the same lines.

His post at Townhall.com titled "Internet Anonymity is as Destructive as Internet Porn" was the inspiration for "Trolls". Since my trackbacks don't work too well with Townhall.com, I'm pasting his entire article here. It's thought provoking and should give all true, rational adults something to think about before they post "flaming" comments on others' blogs. I know I have tightened up my rules and will no longer tolerate "flaming" in my comments sections on my blog. I won't succumb to the childish nonsense instigators choose to toss out. For more on my rules, go back and read "Trolls".

A word to the wise, however. Should you choose to "flame" me, either on my blog or a blog I contribute to, I will have no compunction showing comment threads in all their glory and exposing your childishness for the world to see, complete with links. I'm simply not going to tolerate it any longer and perhaps, if you are shown to be the child you choose to act as, often enough, you may start to see the light that people are tired of such behavior and may actually choose to act as a rational, reasonable adult.

Here's Mr. Prager's article:

Whenever people lament aspects of the Internet, they are most likely to lament the net's ubiquity of pornography. Only God knows, for example, how many kids, searching for some government information, typed in "whitehouse.com" only to be greeted by pornographic images (happily, the website changed hands in 2004). It is almost impossible to completely avoid such imagery even with filtering programs.

But there is something at least as awful -- and arguably more destructive -- that permeates the Internet: the lies, vitriol, obscenities and ad hominem attacks made by anonymous individuals on almost every website that deals with public issues.

Sexual images and prose for the purpose of sexual titillation are not new. But the ability of anyone in society to debase public discourse is new. Until the Internet, in the public's best known venue for self-expression -- letters to the editor published in newspapers and magazines -- people either expressed themselves in a civilized manner or they were not published. And overwhelmingly, even those letters that were not published were written in a respectful manner because the letter-writers had to reveal their real names and their addresses (though only names and cities were published).

Being identifiable breeds responsibility; anonymity breeds irresponsibility.

That is why people -- even generally decent people -- tend to act so much less morally when in a crowd (the crowd renders them anonymous). That is why people tend to act more decently when they walk around with their names printed on a nametag. That is why people act more rudely when in their cars -- they cannot be identified as they could outside of their car. There is no question but that most people would write very different entries on the Internet if their names were printed alongside their submission.

E-mail provides another example. It is the very rare individual who sends a hate-filled, obscenity-laced e-mail that includes his name. As the recipient of such e-mails, I know firsthand how rarely people identify themselves when sending hate-filled mail. It is so rare, in fact, that I usually respond to hate mail that includes the writer's name just to commend him for attaching his name to something so embarrassing.

The Internet practice of giving everyone the ability to express himself anonymously for millions to read has debased public discourse. Cursing, ad hominem attacks and/or the utter absence of logic characterize a large percentage of many websites' "comments" sections. And because people tend to do what society says it is OK to do, many people, especially younger people, are coming to view such primitive forms of self-expression as acceptable.

Some might argue that anonymity enables people to more freely express their thoughts. But this is not true. Anonymity only enables people to more freely express their feelings. Anonymity values feelings over thought, and immediate expression over thoughtful reflection.

There is not one good reason for any website, left or right, or non-political, to allow people to avoid identifying themselves. Anyone interested in serious political discourse, or in merely lowering the hate levels in our country, should welcome the banning of anonymous postings.

It would be interesting to find out how many websites continue to encourage anonymous postings. Presumably, they would pay some financial price by insisting on posters identifying themselves. I don't know why, and I don't know how big a price that would be, but it is hard to imagine that it is higher than the price society pays when hate, anger and irrationality become the normal way of citizens expressing themselves. And even from the websites' own perspectives this policy is probably self-defeating. I doubt I am alone in reading fewer and fewer comments sections because of the low level of so many of the postings. Just as bad money chases away good money, moronic postings chase away intelligent ones. I have come to the point where I even read fewer comments posted about my own columns.

Websites should insist on listing names and cities of those who post comments, just as newspapers and magazines do.

The irresponsible, the angry, the obscene and the dumb have virtually taken over many Internet dialogues. But there is an easy fix, and websites owe it to society to use it. Just ban anonymous postings.

Wise words, indeed.

Trolls

Like a lot of us in the blogosphere, I'm subscribed to many sources where I get my information. If there are articles I feel are relevant to the day, I start hunting down other sources and researching, and then finally posting. It can be extremely time consuming; however, a good "gauge" of relevant issues is my talk radio while I'm working. Since I'm fortunate enough to have my own secretary, I can often wear headphones while attending to my job duties and not be interrupted by the phone. Unfortunately for me, my secretary is only part time.

One of the challenges bloggers face are a phenom called "trolls"--those who trawl posts with the specific intent of causing trouble. They have no interest in discussing a post, debating rationally, logically or reasonably. Most of the bloggers in my sphere have no problem with people who want to discuss issues and come to a modicum of understanding. What we do object to is spamming, anonymous posts, abuse and off topic meanderings. That'll get you banned every time. Then we have to re-edit those who come back screeching we're violating their First Amendment rights by banning and editing their loopiness and craziness.

Well, here's a news flash for you. On our individual blogs, we are the reigning authority as to what we will or will not accept in our comment sections. Three of us have moderator rights on each other's blogs to "cover" when the owner isn't available or is extremely busy.

Here's another news flash for you. The Freedom of Expression you are so upset about having suppressed goes both ways. It's not an exclusive right of the lunatic fringes. And along with that right to expression comes consequences to your expressions. That's the beauty of a "right"--it also has "responsibilities" and if you don't exercise your "right" properly, you face the consequences of your actions (or in this case, words). Further, while you are more than free to express yourself, I am also free not to want your expressions polluting my life. That's my right-to choose to listen or not, based on your demeanor.

In short, if you want people to listen to what you have to say, use your right to express yourself in a responsible, logical, rational manner, backed up with facts (or, if you only have opinions, explain why you hold those opinions--and "because so and so said so" isn't a valid explanation--think for yourself).

If you want me to see your side of something, present it to me in an adult manner. Coming onto my site, commenting on your speculation of my private life, throwing out threats, name-calling, etc., is not going to persuade me to your point of view. Present your side in a well prepared manner with verifiable links and stick to the topic. Otherwise, you're going to be banned and edited.

And if I tell you your presence is not welcome at my site, leave and don't come back--and you do--I consider your actions as I do in the real world, to be that of a criminal stalker and I will respond with reports, backups of your posts, lists of times you visited my site after being told to stay away--in short, all the evidence I need to prosecute you through local, state and federal channels. That is my right and I exercise it.

If you consistently threaten me, my children and family, contact my children's schools, threaten my livelihood, etc. because you don't like what I write--and I've told you repeatedly to stay away from my site and don't come back, all of the above will happen to you. In fact, in one case, it is already happening. Spree, from Wake Up America, is the acknowledged queen of research; I am the queen of documentation.

There is a group out in the blogosphere called "Muslims Against Sharia". Their stated goal is reforming islam, basically "growing up" islam into the 21st century as Christianity matured out of the dark ages and the Inquisition. When I first heard about them, I was very encouraged at what they were trying to do and the obvious risk they were taking in doing so, with all the fatwas thrown out for those trying to break away from the stated purpose if islam. I even had them linked to my site in a spot all their own.

That link has since been erased. While their stated goals are honorable and I acknowledge the danger they are in for their goals, their methods of persuasion leave a lot to be desired. Over at Snooper's Take Our Country Back, they degenerated into a complete hissy fit/temper tantrum, complete with name calling and abuse. After reading their diatribe, I wrote my own comment. Thereafter, they chose to contact me on my personal email, attempt to dictate to me what banners and buttons I should display on my site, and every single line of every single response to me contained an obscenity, another denigrating name, or some other form of abuse.

What was interesting was they didn't contact the men--they contacted me, a female. While one of the members is female, presumably they were thinking along the lines of traditional islam in that as a female I would be cowed by their attitudes and give in to their shenanigans. As it turned out later (and things are still on-going), it APPEARS the female member of the group is the one responsible for the majority of the filth. This is NOT the way to persuade someone to your point of view and I won't be re-linking them to my site, no matter how honorable their intentions may be. They have shown themselves to be as intolerant as their shari'a loving brethren.

There is another camp follower of ours who has stalked us from the GOP.com blog to our personal sites, much like camp follower whores who follow soldiers for sex.

She has nothing constructive to say on any of the posts and appears to live simply to instigate trouble. She doesn't like being moderated and when she goes from blog to blog she is summarily banned and deleted. She uses something akin to Anonymouse and changes IP's frequently. She blogs over at "blogging for jesus" (I won't pollute my blog with the link) and suffers from acute delusions of grandeur. She purports to be extremely intelligent; however, she is actually acutely mentally ill. She hides behind the name "Raoul" or anyone of a kazillion nicknames she considers "cutesy".

Her rantings and ramblings are relatively cyclical, either from running out of her psychotropic medications and not getting them filled properly, or we believe, she is institutionalized and receives periodic time on some institutional computer. She loves jihadis and communism. She also rambles how she has God's direct line. Further, she can't decide where she lives--it could be anywhere from France to Canada to the moon--although her IP's always originate in New Jersey.

Her blog is nothing but her insane ramblings against those of us she has chosen to stalk. Truly a sick individual. From the way she treats other women, it's obvious she's miserable being a woman.

Her attitude toward others would be akin to Dana Carvey's "Church Lady" on methamphetamine laced with a bad dose of LSD.

She admits to lurking and contacting my children's schools because she doesn't like what I write. She's threatened my job and place of business. She has been told to stay away from this site and not come back. She is the person referred to above who has been documented, from comments to site visits, and reported to local, state and federal authorities.

So, if you wish to comment on my blog, I'll welcome speaking to you. Until you go nuts or fruit loops. When you start calling me or my other commenters names, abusing me or others, veering away from the post topic, keep in mind the rules.

Don't post anonymously. It will be erased. Stick to the topic in a reasonable fashion. Mind your manners. Act like civilized ladies and gentlemen and not like barbaric animals. Don't repeat talking points without backing them up with cold, hard facts and logic. Talking points for the sake of talking points will be erased as propaganda. I'm not here to be your spamming board. You may not be Christian, but you will listen to others religious views if you expect yours to be listened to. Debate is always welcome from reasonable adults. Act like it.

And, as Spree says, if you don't like the rules, you have two options: 1) don't come by here--no one is putting a gun to your head and forcing you; 2) there's a little red "X" at the top right corner of your screen--click it and don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

Salon Takes A Stab At Truth

Clearly, this leftist rag called Salon and useless dissemination of logic is "Rather" wanting in substance, clarity and truth. It is nearly so sad as to approach a twisted humor.

This "interview" and "explanations" thereof are clearly the rantings of a child that has lost an argument with its betters.

Glenn Greenwald(o) of Salon would have "us" believe that the now considered "infamous" by the rapid-rat Leftinistra Op-Ed from two "war-critics" was total nonsense because one of the authors has stated that he really isn't a war critic. That is not even debatable. It is apparent that Salon is having an anxiety attack in that it just may be shown that they are, once again, on the wrong side of an issue, as are the Leftinistra socialist syncopates on a regular and reliable basis. If anything is bad for American Tradition Values than it must be a good thing for the Socialist Prattling Salon Leftist Rag.

The Leftist Greenwald(o), a socialist sympathizer and supporter of the socialist aspirants to the presidency of the United States, in this article(?) whines about WMDs and the usual prattling of a whining, sniveling spoiled brat.

Greenwald(o) goes on and explains that these men weren't war critics because they did not demand withdrawal of troops. HEY! MORON! I DIDN'T DEMAND THE WITHDRAWAL EITHER YET I WAS CRITICAL OF THE WAR IN REGARDS TO THE ROE ISSUE!

Where do these people hide their brain matter? Never mind. Disregard last transmission.

I suggest to Greenwald(o) to actually do ITS own homework (but trolls hate doing their own). IT can start here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here, to name a few.

This article at Salon and the plethora of others across this land is indicative of the shoe being placed on the other foot. The more they whine about VICTORY the more they prove that BUSH WAS RIGHT.

The more they subject themselves to their own stupidity and BDS, the better for America because the majority of we Americans are finding it "Rather" comical that the obscure moonbat trolls, such as those which write for the likes of Salon and similar leftist rags, each slip further and further into the ditches of obscurity and insignificance.

The Rants of Miss Beth!!

Miss Beth Rants

Just HOW LOW Will the Libs/Dems/Scammers Go?

I have no proof dems and libs are involved in this, but frankly, after what we’ve seen the last six months in Congress, the corruption, money laundering, extreme ethics violations, etc., it would NOT surprise me one single iota to find they are indeed behind this in some measure.

Just what am I talking about? The Nigerian Scam with a twist. Using a US Soldier’s name to get attention–a currently serving US soldier. I mean, after all, let’s see how far these bottom feeding slime will take the name of the United States, engender further hatred toward those that defend our freedom, splatter them with more of the scandal that clings to dems and libs like the designer clothes they adore.

In other words, I’m royally PISSED OFF, and based on the cowards and criminals in congress, protesting in our streets, releasing shockumentaries, babbling from their soapboxes, I’m gonna say what I damn well please and if y’all don’t like it, tough. MY country, MY soldiers, MY freedom of speech.

Here’s what I got in my email (I’ve left all grammatical and structural errors intact):

Dear,

I am in need of your assistance. My name is SGT Justin Harris . I am in the Engineering military unit here in Ba’qubah in Iraq, we have about US$25 Million US dollars that we want to move out of the country. My partners and I need a good partner someone we can trust. It is oil money and legal. We are moving it through diplomatic means, to send it to your house directly or a bank of your choice using diplomatic courier service they can ship it directly to you in your place, door to door delivery. The most important thing is that can we trust you? Once the funds get to you, you take your 50% out and keep our own 50%. Your own part of this deal is to find a safe place where the funds can be sent to. Our own part is sending it to you. If you are interested i will furnish you with more details. But the whole process is simple and we must keep a low profile at all times. Can i trust you and will you help? Send me an email with your positive reply and i will send you more details and the plan. Dont worry it is risk free.Waiting for your urgent response.

Your Army in Iraq.
SGT Justin Harris
The email address it came from: justinharris0001@yahoo.com

FIRST of all should any of you get emails from this typical Nigerian scam, there is a government agency to report it to: phishing-report@us-cert.gov. Use this address liberally.

Second, there really is a Sgt. Justin Harris (Sgt. Justin Harris, a combat engineer who is a team leader for Company E and hails from Roseville, Calif. ), serving in Iraq. There’s a wonderful story on him here entitled “Ironhorse Brigade Helps Return Kidnapped Victims A joint effort with Iraqi Police returns three men to their families.”

Just how low will the scammers, the dems, the libs, the LSM, etc. go in besmirching those that defend their right to spew forth their vile? Using a hero’s name to promote illegal activities and Nigerian scams? They haven’t cooked up enough bullshit between Abu Ghraib, Haditha, etc.?

Assholes, all.

Yes, there are low-lifes everywhere and they are sure to be code pinko members or even friends of the trolls we see everyday. Imagine that?

  1. Beth,
I’ve been getting things from all kind of Countries about money. It’s a scam.
First time I seen a Soldier’s name being used. So Thanks for the update.
And shame on the idiots that are doing this. You know the words I’d use.

Limited Patience With Trolls Here

This Blog Is Closed To Trolls

The above is for the Word Press Blog...this blog, the trolls will be dealt with as well.

Due to the impossibility of trolls to remain on topic for more than 13 nanoseconds, all comments now will be approved by one of the Administrators. There are several Administrators. It was reported this evening that a troll abused ITS privileges and has been subjected to collective scrutiny.

For the sake of coherent thought, we have decided to moderate all comments, even the Good Guys. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience.

  1. Good job Snoop…we just plain have too many important things going on to have to take the time out to educate those that will not learn. It’s that simple–and they inevitably follow you around, spamming all over the place, trying to hijack, you name it. It’s just not necessary. They have their own blogs–let them rant there (not that I’ll be visiting)

Comment by Miss Beth | June 27, 2007 | Edit

  2. We gave it a shot and we gave the trolls a chance. They blew it. They will blame us, naturally. The trolls seem to be allergic to self-responsibility.

    Comment by snooper | June 27, 2007 | Edit

  3. Know exactly what you mean Snoop. My boss and I had a long talk about this kind of crap today at work. He’s having problems with his son–and he kept using the “entitlement” word–so I had to do a slap-down that the only thing his son is entitled to is reaping appropriate consequences from his actions and breathing–he’s NOT entitled to live at home and be completely disrespectful, he’s NOT entitled to the car keys when he’s paying nothing on the car–no payment, no insurance, no maintenance, no gas (the kid doesn’t have a job), he’s NOT entitled to his laptop or cell phone…he IS entitled to ACCOUNTABILITY for his actions–period–and THAT’S the way we conservatives raise OUR children–NOT the 50+ years worth of lack of accountability, responsibility and entitlement mentality.

By the time I was done with my boss, I had challenged him to come to my classes with me (the ones I go to VOLUNTARILY called love and logic) on Saturdays, find an apartment of his own (his wife completely undermines anything he does as far as discipline with the boys), calling a budget manager and challenged to live on what he pays ME a month–and be successful at it. (His wife works, is fully vested and makes about $3,000/month, yet the boss is STILL having to pay out close to another $6,000/month giving money to the boys whenever they want it, paying the bills–he has no idea where his wife’s money goes, etc., etc.).

He’s brought up the glories of lefty liberalism less and less–particularly since my 15yo has a job, goes to his boxing, has a savings account, splits his boxing dues with me, is able to use his own money (his savings account is through USAA from my brother, so my son gets a monthly allowance debit-type card) to buy or do what he wants, and is saving for a car. And my son is 1 1/2 years younger than my boss’ son.

I’ve also caught his IP cruising my blog, for significant time periods, and caught him at work on it–seems the message is getting out to one liberal!

I’ve told him the one magic word for almost four years—ACCOUNTABILITY. Looks like it MAY be sinking in.

Comment by Miss Beth | June 28, 2007 | Edit

  4. Good. I’ve seen a lot of trolls, but I’d have to say the ones who come here are among the worst, and definitely deserving of this.

    Comment by mdvp | June 28, 2007 | Edit

  5. Thank you - thank you - thank you Snooper!!!!!

The mental midgets on the left have nothing worthwhile to add to any discussion here or at any of the other “good guy” blogs. Their purpose is to distort and deceive with their left wing TP’s.

Good riddance and who cares what they will say. Nothing they have posted to date has any credibility or relevance so let them whine.

    Comment by dsolo | June 28, 2007 | Edit

  6. Thank you Snoop and if I could I’d HUG you.

  7. It’s a great day for the free flow of information.

Let’s get ready to a repeat when the fairness doctrine is proposed.

  8. Well this is a great Thursday folks:
    No amnesty bill
    No trolls

    Comment by cassygop | June 28, 2007 | Edit

  9. y’all have the emails I published? Snoop, how about from TVC and the “list” do we still have that available?

Comment by Miss Beth | June 28, 2007 | Edit

  10. Yeah…either here or at the other place.

Troll Baiting Works...Check Out The Comments

Troll Baiting

Works everytime.

Fellow bloggers of the Universe, Attention To Orders.

Trolls use several “handles” to pretend they are many and to make it appear that they outnumber us. Such is not the case. There are more Good Guy bloggers than there are Bad Guy bloggers.

They will use multiple email addresses to use many “handles”.

Miss Beth has identified “several” which have the same IPs as well.

mustafabinsadiz | mustafabinsadiz@yahoo.com | IP: 71.248.242.81

raoul | rsporka@yahoo.com | IP: 71.248.242.81

As one can see, they aren’t so smart.

mustafabinsadiz | mustafabinsadiz@yahoo.com | IP: 71.248.242.81

“I am grateful to the people who are tolerant and understanding of our people. There are almost two billion Muslims in the world. Many of you of a particular political sect see all of them as your enemies. But like I began I am grateful that not all Americans are as bigoted as the few of you here are. We are a peaceful people. Yes we have bad apples amongst us but you also have the same kind of people. In fact some of you over here would gladly declare your own version of Jihad on innocents in order to satisfy your bloodlust. Thank Allah, peace be upon Him, that so many other Americans are normal in their minds and are like the rest of our world.
As-Salāmu `Alaykum”

Either this troll is a liar, misrepresenting ITSELF (go figure) or IT is a Jihadi “pretending” to be something else (go figure). Either way, IT is a troll and a liar.

http://snooper.wordpress.com/tag/jihadist-bloggers/

  1. They should never push that button and I could care less who it is. If it’s raoul which makes sense then he’s an ignorant troll as well.

  2. Not only ignorant but the dumbest of the lamest.

    Comment by snooper | June 23, 2007 | Edit

  3. Now WHY do you suppose that IP is on my “banned” list when I’ve never seen that particular handle before?

Comment by Miss Beth | June 23, 2007 | Edit

  4. Gee, Miss Beth…isn’t THAT a coincidence?

    LOL!!

    Comment by snooper | June 23, 2007 | Edit

  5. LOL…I don’t believe in coincidence–not by a long shot–never have, never will….

Comment by Miss Beth | June 23, 2007 | Edit

  15. For the sake of arguement, even if it were not the same IP address, I find this “comment” interesting:

“But like I began I am grateful that not all Americans are as bigoted as the few of you here are “–I think it means it’s grateful not all americans are as educated or have taken the time to educate themselves the way we have here–thus making it easier to lead those americans to the slaughtrer

Comment by Miss Beth | June 23, 2007 | Edit

  16. LOL!! Cassy, that was a good one!

    Comment by snooper | June 23, 2007 | Edit

  17. Miss Beth…I find it “amazing” that we are accused of being bigoted when Islam teaches bigotry in that ALL “infidels” are to be killed if they do not convert to Islam or sell themselves into slavery for Islam.

The double standards are quite obvious.

Poor Jihadi. I always KNEW IT was a Jihadi. IT even admitted to it.

    Comment by snooper | June 23, 2007 | Edit

  18. IT even admitted to being to being “left of the leftists” which is communism.

So, IT is a Jihadi communist?

At best, IT is a liar.

    Comment by snooper | June 23, 2007 | Edit

  19. Most of us know what the jihadists are it’s only a handful of soap on a ropers that “think” they can fool all people.
Snoop, we already know raoul is a communist, and he’s one leg shy of being in bed with a jihadist.
He’s anti- American no matter what field we talk about.
Of course Beth it teaches bigotry, that’s why they have a disfunction in trying to get along with other people.
I don’t buy the hijack religion part.

    Comment by cassygop | June 23, 2007 | Edit

  20. Nor do I Cassy–particularly after Ben’s and Solo’s writings on the subject–threads I notice that never get comments. And isn’t that interesting? The actual, factual threads that lay out the cold, hard knowledge, never get comments.

Comment by Miss Beth | June 23, 2007 | Edit

  21. Yes Beth and I loved those writings. But as I told solo it’s great and all should read it.
Beth you know raoul & the other leftys, they refuse to hear anything that isn’t in their leftwing agenda.
Even if it means our demise. They actually believe they will be spared. Yea right.

    Comment by cassygop | June 23, 2007 | Edit

  22. Cassy, you and I both know that those that want to learn and prepare for what’s coming will do so. We can only bring them the information–we can’t make them learn it. Unfortunately, most of those on the left, prefer the standard ostrich syndrome position–it doesn’t fit their agenda to learn anything new, to question the status quo, or to be in any way productive about their own longevity or lack thereof. And, when it happens, they will be the absolute FIRST to scream about some investigative committee to find out why–when they should look in the mirror of their own disbelief and ridicule of those of us that did take the time to read and learn.

Comment by Miss Beth | June 23, 2007 | Edit

  23. I know, it’s the you can lead a horse to water theory.
It’s pretty bad when they refuse to listen to the enemy.

Nancy and Hairy...2 Peas In A Failed Pod

GREAT Job Nancy and HAIRY!!

Collectively, these two IDGITS, has managed to abase the United States CONgress to an ALL time LOW of 14% approval.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWW!!!

Where in the hell is Dean?

It “IS” all about the numbers.

WTG Mr Limpet and Stretch Face!! Now, there’s something to write home to mom about, eh? Morons. Majority of Americans on their side my ass.

Americans’ Confidence in Congress at All-Time Low

The percentage of Americans with a “great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in Congress is at 14%, the lowest in Gallup’s history of this measure — and the lowest of any of the 16 institutions tested in this year’s Confidence in Institutions survey. It is also one of the lowest confidence ratings for any institution tested over the last three decades.

Gallup’s annual update on Americans’ confidence in institutions shows that confidence ratings are generally down across the board compared with last year. The public’s confidence ratings in several institutions, including Congress, are now at all-time low points in Gallup’s history of this measure. These low ratings reflect the generally sour mood of the public at this time.

Of the 16 societal institutions tested in Gallup’s 2007 update, Americans express the most confidence in the military. They have the least confidence in HMOs and Congress. Americans have much more confidence in “small” business than in “big” business.

HA! Their “approval ratings” are LOWER than the much hated Republican majority they were SO whining about! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Morons.

Does this mean we can impeach them now for lying to the American People?

Be advised: below is a track record of troll comments. As can be seen, they have a habit ot an inability to focus on any subject and try so hard to distract. Then, they get angry about being banned from posting.

  1. rcp

You don’t seem to realize that we all want our Troops home, but as usual it’s our Troops that knows what’s at risk, it’s our Troops that wants to finish the job, it’s our Troops that are there to make sure that AQ goes down.

  21. Serious question… Do you really expect the visitors to your blog to stay EXACTLY on topic? Do you plan on treating everyone the same regardless of party affiliation? For example… In post #19 you mentioned something about Jimmy Carter. What does he have to do with this current topic?

    Comment by talknowtownhallcom | June 21, 2007 | Edit

  22. For post #23:

The wrongly conceived perception of the passe mantra of The Reid and his ilk is why they are so low in the polls and why GWB has an approval rating of TWICE CONgress.

The “Iraq” issue was all about VICTORY and NOT “getting the troops” out via cut and run.

It never ceases to amaze me that when the polls support the Leftinistra, they are as accurate as accurate can get. When the polls are unfavorable,it is always someone else’s fault or the polls are skewed.

Go here to see how the MAJORITY of Americans feel about the War In Iraq:
    http://snooper.wordpress.com/2007/06/12/is-it-any-wonder-2/

You will see your assessments are “skewed” by your BDS syndrome or your Jihadi Troll Blogger status:

Are we conservatives “happy” with GWB? Yes and no. Yes to a degree about the GWOT and no about the ILLEGAL immigration crap.

The DNC PROMISED the American People to “clean up” DC and they failed. Why? They are the CAUSE of that which needs to be cleaned up.

Get over it. Accept it and move on. It will only get worse for you.

Rasmussen Sunday, June 10, 2007: “Overall, voters are expecting things to get worse–just 26% think things will get better in Iraq over the next six months; 51% say they’ll get worse.

Fifty-two percent (52%) of all Americans say President Bush is doing a poor job handling the situation in Iraq. Just 27% say he is doing a good or an excellent job.”

    Who’s in the minority?

    “..if you are an American.”

    Born and raised.

“It all boils down to cowardice..”

Admitting that this war is making Iraq, America and the world worse off is not being a coward. Since you like citing polls, I cited a poll above that says “26% think things will get better in Iraq over the next six months; 51% say they’ll get worse”. All Americans 61%

The DNC and Terrorism

On Democrats and Terrorism

These clowns never give up. Well, neither do I. I just don’t have, like Dennis Miller said, the opportunity others do to get the word out. I try hard via the
