IN CONGRESS, July 4, 1776. The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America,

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

The Ides of 2008

Seeing that this is a mostly political top-notch blog, from time to time I think it appropriate to post some funny stuff to break the ice, as it were. I received this in my email from Stormin' Norman.

John was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young layers (hens), called 'pullets,' and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs. He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced. This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells.

John's favorite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all! When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, could run for cover.

To John's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one. John was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Renfrew County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.

The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the No Bell Piece Prize but they also awarded him the Pulletsurprise as well. Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention.

Vote carefully this year...the bells are not always audible.

This is the story:

The British entered Chesapeake Bay on August 19, 1814 and in just 5 days invaded and captured the young Republic's Capital, burning down both the Capitol and White House with flames visible 40 miles away in Baltimore which was soon to be attacked by both land and sea.

The war of 1812 was quickly coming to a sad end. Earlier in 1813 Maj. George Armistead (US) the commander of Fort McHenry (Baltimore Port) ask for a flag so big "the British would have no trouble seeing it from a distance."

During the attack of Baltimore the townsfolk asked a young, 35 years old, attorney, Mr. Key, for his assistance in obtaining the release of the town physician, Dr. William Beanes, who was being held as a prisoner. Mr. Key along with Col. John Skinner, an agent for prisoner exchange, sailed under a flag of truce 3 September. Producing a pouch of letters from wounded British prisoners praising their care which Dr. Beanes provided, they were able to secure his release.

A decisive sea attack was soon to be launched by the British and the American party was not allowed to return back to Baltimore having seen the enemy's preparations. The British began a bombardment of Fort McHenry which lasted 25 hours, firing bombshells weighing as much as 220 pounds.

Seeing the flag still flying at day break, the attorney, Francis Scott Key, an amateur poet, wrote on the back of a letter and while sailing back to Baltimore and later in his lodgings at the Indian Queen Hotel the poem which became our National Anthem. It was printed in the Baltimore Patriot on 20 September, and the Baltimore American the next day followed by a dozen more newspapers in the following weeks.

"From Cassandra to Jesus Christ, it is amazing how often the doomed choose to ignore those who warn them of their coming fate." Cassandra was "doomed to tell the truth yet never to be believed". I am amazed how Greek Mythology so mirrors American politics.

I am also equally amazed that the United States is the last hold out for Judeo-Christian values but I am not surprised at all that those values are under attack by those that will not heed the warnings. What is equally astounding are the attitudes of complacency of so many alleged Christians in this nation we call America. Prophecy is being fulfilled as we live and breath and yet the silence is overwhelmingly loud. Alas. The silent ones will deserve everything that befalls them.

Casandra had the ability to foresee the future but was damned by her lover Apollo to never have the gift of persuasion because she spurned him at one point in time. The lesson there is to never anger your God or god. In the words of Cassandra. "Apollo, my destroyer, for you have destroyed me ..." (Aeschylus, Agamemnon 1080) and "I promised consent to Apollo but broke my word ... and ever since that fault I could persuade no one." (Aeschylus, Agamemnon 1208ff.)

John The Baptist lamented in nearly the same manner when he proclaimed "You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?" and "I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the Lord, as the prophet Isaiah said." Some call John The Baptist God's sled dog. I agree. Someone has to do it. It is all too readily clear that our politicians are not only incapable of such but are wholly unqualified.

Amazing isn't it? Who will hear and who will respond in the affirmative to that which we witness day in and day out? We see a Global Cultural Jihad unfolding before us yet we sit idly by in either fear to make waves or total disbelief. We ignore it in the hopes that it will all mysteriously vanish. Such is not the case.

This Global Cultural Jihad does not mean in totality that it is only the alleged "radical" Islam members conducting it nor does it mean that you have to be an Islamist to conduct a Jihad. Jihad means a Holy War and in my estimation anyone can conduct a Holy War. The Scriptures are very clear in this as is so stated in Ephesians 6:12, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

We fight evil with good and there are those that fight good with evil. It is up to people to ascertain and discern that which is evil and that which is good. There are abundant sources of data upon which to glean the knowledge required to make the correct choices in life.

Herb Meyer was recently in Davos, Switzerland at a symposium where mighty men of courage gathered to discuss current events and, as voices in the wilderness, Mr Meyer made this proclamation:

[...] There has never been a superpower in this position before. On the one hand, this makes the U.S. a magnet for bright and ambitious people. It also makes us a target. We are becoming one of the last holdouts of the traditional Judeo-Christian culture. There is no better place in the world to be in business and raise children. The U.S. is by far the best place to have an idea, form a business and put it into the marketplace.

We take it for granted, but it isn't as available in other countries of the world. Ultimately, it's an issue of culture. The only people who can hurt us are ourselves, by losing our culture. If we give up our Judeo-Christian culture, we become just like the Europeans.

The culture war is the whole ballgame. If we lose it, there isn't another America to pull us out. [END]

No other words to my knowledge have been uttered so truthfully in recent days. America is in the same Culture War as is all of Europe and Canada. It has gotten so dire that Europe is preparing for their own Holy War called a civil war. So, too, here in the USA, there are some which are speaking of the same. As a Warrior myself, I pray that this does not come to pass but I do understand the sentiment and can see it coming. It can be all avoided but there must be those willing to make themselves known and emerge from their closeted comfort zones and speak out.

Traditional America is under attack and has been for decades. The issue is this; is it too late to do anything about it? For the first time a true Marxist is poised to become the President of the United States and Barack Obama is indeed a Marxist. All one has to do is listen to him as he speaks and parse his rhetoric. The man is a consummate liar and the collection of videos presented clearly depict that fact.

American Liberalism has been shown to be a mental disorder in proportions as to declare the country an international crisis. We have no qualified leadership in this nation at the federal level. Their spines and moral fortitude have been beaten into globs of mush with no relief in sight.

We need national healing and that won't come until 2 Chronicles 7:14 comes into prominent play: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." Naturally, the Leftinistra will froth and foam at the mouth with these words but this is to be expected and I am sure the comments section will be rife with much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

The United States is at a crossroads and the time has come for action and perhaps the Great Revival Part 2.

Heed these words from one voice in the wilderness.

Pew Poll: Americans Now Favor Drilling in ANWR

WASHINGTON - High gasoline prices have dramatically changed Americans' views on energy and the environment with more people now viewing oil drilling and new power plants as a greater priority than energy conservation than they did five months ago, according to a new survey.

The poll released Tuesday by the Pew Research Center shows nearly half of those surveyed — or 47 percent - now rate energy exploration, drilling and building new power plants as the top priority, compared with 35 percent who believed that five months ago.

The Pew poll, conducted in late June, showed the number of people who consider energy conservation as more important declined by 10 percentage points since February from a clear majority to 45 percent. People are now about evenly split on which is more important.

The number of people who said they considered increasing energy supplies more important than protecting the environment increased from 54 percent in February to 60 percent and the number of people who favor oil drilling in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge also increased.
"This shows the real impact of higher gas prices on the public," said Carroll Doherty, associate director for the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, which commissioned the telephone survey of 2,004 adults from June 18 to June 29. The margin of error was plus or minus 2.5 percentage points, slightly larger for subgroups.

Since February, gasoline prices have soared from just over $3 to a national average of $4.08 a gallon, according to the Energy Department.

The shift toward embracing more energy production was seen across different age and political groups, reflecting a change in attitudes among Democrats, independents, women, and young people - all groups that in the past have generally championed conservation over energy development.

sustain a long-term military presence in Iraq, but added that he would be open
to "refine my policies" about a timeline for withdrawing troops after meeting
with American military commanders during a trip to Iraq later this month.
Mr. Obama, whose popularity in the Democratic primary was built upon a sharp
opposition to the war and an often-touted 16-month gradual timetable for
removing combat troops, dismissed suggestions that he was changing positions in
the wake of reductions in violence in Iraq and a general election fight with
Senator John McCain.

"I've always said that the pace of withdrawal would be dictated by the safety and security of our troops and the need to maintain stability. That assessment has not changed," he said. "And when I go to Iraq and have a chance to talk to some of the commanders on the ground, I'm sure I'll have more information and will continue to refine my policies."

We are becoming one of the last holdouts of the traditional Judeo-Christian culture. There is no better place in the world to be in business and raise children. The U.S. is by far the best place to have an idea, form a business and put it into the marketplace.

We take it for granted, but it isn't as available in other countries of the world. Ultimately, it's an issue of culture. The only people who can hurt us are ourselves, by losing our culture. If we give up our Judeo-Christian culture, we become just like the Europeans.

The culture war is the whole ballgame. If we lose it, there isn't another America to pull us out. [END]

A Newt One’s founder, and my friend and blogging partner SonlitKnight, told me on the phone today that McCain is down by 5 points to Barack Obama in Montana. He then said, “if McCain is down in Montana, the reddest of the red states, turn out the lights, this race is over.”

I refuse to give up, however, and here’s why.

First, Nobama hasn’t yet been challenged once. There are open debates yet to be scheduled, unless Nobama chickens out. There are both conventions yet to occur, both of which will ‘bounce’ their respective candidates. And there are who knows what kind of world events that will affect the race.

In short, this thing hasn’t even started yet. Polls are very often slanted and I can’t think of anything the drive bys would like to do more than to dishearten conservatives by making the race appear to be over.

I refuse to join in. Until election day, McCain is the man because Nobama is a Surrender Coward of epic proportion. Period.

ONGOING: SHOULD CONSERVATIVES VOTE FOR McCAIN

The daring rescue of hostages in Columbia illustrates the point

By now you’ve heard the amazing story of the rescue of hostages in Columbia. The hostages had been held by rebels for 5 or 6 years. Three Americans are back with their families now, thanks to a daring plan and, well, rebel stupidity.

The helicopter which landed in the rebel encampment was manned by Columbian military who were dressed as rebels. The rebels thought that this helicopter was going to take the hostages to a new location, which presumes that the rebels may have thought that their location was now known. It had been known for some time by Americans and Columbians who were planning to rescue the hostages.

Once on board the helicopter, the genuine rebels were taken captive, and the hostages were told, “You are free.”

You... are... free.

Hearing this story on the radio this morning (who listens to the radio anymore, right left leaning anti-American scum?), tears filled my eyes. Five plus years of being held captive, and finally, after thinking they were being taken to yet another location by rebels, they hear, “You are free.”

What a great moment for those held for so long.

And as I dressed for work, I got to thinking: We have two men running for President, and only these two have a chance to win. There will be other small-fry candidates, perhaps a candidate or two better suited for the job, but without any shot of winning.

One of these candidates, Barack Obama, is ready to tell the citizens of Iraq, “You are on your own.”

The other candidate, John McCain, seeks to tell the citizens of Iraq, “You are free.”

That’s quite enough bottom line for me to pull the lever for the imperfect John McCain. Period.

From Today's RR....

Barack Obama is leading John McCain by five percentage points in Montana. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state shows Obama attracting 48% of the vote while McCain earns 43%.

Had to read it thrice to make sure I wasn't seeing things. An entrenched, well known, career Republican polling 43% against a rabid, left-wing political neophyte....... in Mon-Friggin'-Tana!?

Let me put it this way, right now, McCain is underperforming Bush 2004 by 25 points in Montana. LINK

Those that have been paying attention and those that do actually understand the enemy of which we face already know what kind of humans are being held at Club Gitmo and I disagree that we should bring them to the States so the American People can see for themselves. These are dangerous people that could care less about killing aimlessly for their cause. And, by the way, their cause is the Caliphate.

If we bring them into this country for trials, they will get bail, they will be released pending a court date, they will vanish and they will kill again. That much is plainly obvious seeing that the vast majority that have already been released have been found on the battlefields in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I say turn them over to another prison someplace in the Middle East that hate them as much as The Troops do. Sure. Close Club Gitmo and ship them elsewhere...just not here. Perhaps the ship or aircraft they get transported in will either mysteriously sink or fall from the sky. Wouldn't be any love loss here.

So, the worst approved of CONgress in history will now have to decide what to do. Hopefully, seeing that they love their fellow man so much no matter what their fellow man has done, perhaps their love will be at such a level as to house these murderers in their homes during the trials. Yeah. Right.

Thank you activist judges and bleeding heart liberal morons for so much of nothing.

TEMPERS HAVE FLARED BUT I STILL LOVE THESE GUYS

On his most recent show, Jimmy Z speculated about the reasons I was so angry. I had to listen to the show in archive because it would not play live for me.

His speculation was that I became enraged because I could not convince others of the rightness of my points.

No, that is not it at all. I respect your views-wrong as they are.

What enraged me was the way I was personally attacked for regressing back to the very same view I had last fall. A view that-at the time- all of you agreed with. That view was that John McCain was unfit to be our President. I was a patriot back then. Now, however, coming full circle, back to the same view I had back then, I am a traitor, A communist, a supporter of marxists....a man with the blood of the troops on my hands.

Same view.......

Very different reaction.

This is not hyperbole. These were actual statements made to me, by those of you who I called friends. And why? Because I have stood up for the very same values that each and every one of you have claimed as your own right here *points to screen*.

To be fair, some of you have agreed with me and still others have said "We disagree but we still respect and support you".

That's where I am with the rest of you. I disagree passionately with you but I still love, respect and support you. I was pissed at you-I'll admit but pissed like two brothers fighting each other.

We are all overwhelmed looking at the future and it is right to be angry and dismayed. The crybabies on the left have brought this country within sight of it's own destruction. You act is if I cannot see that. You often act as if I am too blind to understand the radical positions of Harry "oil is making us sick" Reid, Nancy "The good will of the Iranian govt made the surge possible" Pelosi and Silvestre "The terrorists might use global warming as a weapon against us" Reyes. (Yes, he really did say that).

You act as if I don't get the fact that an Obama Presidential run is the closest thing to a marxist takeover our country has ever seen. I get it, folks. LOUD AND CLEAR.

There is only one problem-

John McCain doesn't get it.

John McCain is - in the words of Dick Morris- "Sleepwalking through this campaign, refusing to draw the necessary lines of distinction between himself and Obama".

In other words, as the train races towards the cliff, McCain is asleep at the switch.

No, no...it's worse than that. As the enemy is approaching, John McCain is on the hill firing at us.

Was he fighting for you when he condemned one pundit for saying Barack Hussein Obama? Was he fighting for you when launched into an attack on the North Carolina GOP on the eve of the primary? How about when he called those in opposition to amnesty "racists"?

When he called Evangelical Christians "Agents of Intolerance". Was he speaking for you?
Did he speak for you when he slurred the Swift Boat Vets as "Dishonarable and Dishonest"?

Was he on your side when he opposed ANWR drilling in 2002? Or, are you happy with gas prices where they are?

After the vomit you have seen towards our troops, our country, our President for 7 1/2 years, do you want to crush moonbats beneath your heels? or do you want to "Reach across the Aisle, like McCain?".

Most of all...Most of all....Do you want to continue the soft shoe, play nice, politics of IDIOTS like John McCain or do you want to fight?

Don't you understand the Irony?

We pass rules that only WE follow.

McCain/Feingold is never followed by the Feingold side.

John McCain's decision to stay chained to public funding after Obama jettisoned it is just the last straw. We vote for their Judges, they filibuster ours. We reach across the aisle and call them "friends". They spew vomit across the aisle and call us "fascist", "liar", "misleader", "culture of corruption".

They call our troops torturers, murderers, baby killers. Does McCain attack them? No.

He is too busy attacking us.

How can any of you credibly argue that McCain is our only hope against Obama? No! WE are are only hope against Obama AND McCain.

It's not him against him...it's US against THEM. They are BOTH on the dark side. We need to defeat BOTH of them. One now, one over the next 4 years. It's an ugly prospect, I'll grant you but the only card we have left to play. McCain's utter contempt for us is equal to that of Obama.

We all knew that last fall. I guess we just forgot it.

You guys do what you want on November 4th. I pray to God John McCain loses, and I will fight with all my strength to ensure that result. It's our only hope.... it really is.
We can survive 4 years of Obama. It'll hurt, I won't deny it but we'll survive, by hanging together. We won't survive 4 years of McCain. He's just killing us.

What we are faced with is accepting a 4 year prison term to avoid a 30 year prison term. For me, it is just as clear as new crystal.

Anyway, I love you guys. Have a wonderful 4th.

Marxist Obama and His Marxist Allies

I caught this over at Miss Beth's and it is also posted at DTRT.

There is a post over at the Barack Hussein Marxist Jihadi Supporter Obama site under the category Marxists/Socialists/Communists for Obama in the community area. Under that heading, there is a post entitled The Role of Government. Gee, I wonder if this would be good.

Yet on another page at Obama's friends place, there WAS a post entitled "The Nature of the Proletariat" which has since been removed. Too bad no one took a screen shot of the entry but here is a quote from that page:

There are other groups such as this, one of them being Recreate '68 which also call for an armed insurrection and to install a Communist-Socialist-Marxist style regime in the United States. I may be wrong, highly doubtful, but the only folks I see that proclaim this kind of activity is good for the country in the long haul are those that have never been in armed conflict battle meaning in a war, with real lead and steel projectiles hurtling through the air at high rates of speed in many directions.

Once again, the much hated web site WND has the entire story with very good editorializing to be contemplated and heeded. And, as a side note, there is another story at WND where Obama's supporters and very open about their Jihadi loyalties which, by the way, support Obama's opinion of the SCOTUS treason against our Troops.It seems as though they want to free some fund raisers that have been imprisoned because of their terrorist activities. Obama feels the same way but hasn't actually come out and said it. He doesn't have to. All one has to do is to pay attention to his "just words and just speeches" garbage to figure it out.
