Around 100 years ago in internet and instant information age time frames, I wrote a blog post before I saddled up with this blog ANO circa April 2007 and was originally posted at my Townhall blog. It had been since transferred to the TOCB blog now integral with ANO. In that post is the language of The Logan Act which is still on the books and reads as follows:
When I originally wrote that piece, it was immediately attacked by moronic Leftinistra anti-Americanists. I expected that and I will expect it again. Back in April of 2007, CFIF had this to say at the very end of the post and it represents how far PC has infected the spines of the pathetic men and women that have been charged with securing this nation from both foreign and domestic enemies:
Now, we have Right Voices, Tall and Rich, Gateway Pundit, Thinkin' Bout Stuff and scores of others revealing that the current Speaker of the House was negotiating with known terrorists and other State sponsors of terrorism in South America - namely FARC - undermining America's security. (FYI, the Logan Act was "modified" in 1948)
For a full explanation and a small history lesson of the Logan Act, there is a comment at the Human Events blog written by Lisa Richards, third one down. Here is a snippet:
The Wall Street Journal wrote a lengthy article back in 2007 exposing the act of the Traitor Pelosi but, again, the cowards did nothing. It wasn't politically expedient to do anything.
I have a damn question. When will it be politically expedient to protect this nation from the enemies within? When the American People arise and take to arms? Will it be politically expedient then?
Read the articles at the blogs I linked to above and read for yourselves how deeply Nancy Pelosi and the Leftinistra are in bed with our enemies and then tell me why not a damn coward in DC is doing anything about it. (The Wall Street Journal article is here.)
Oh. Wait. I already answered my own question by using the descriptor "coward". Never mind.

It had been since transferred to the TOCB blog now integral with ANO. In that post is the language of The Logan Act which is still on the books and reads as follows:
Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both. This is clear language and it is clearly understood.
This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply himself, or his agent, to any foreign government, or the agents thereof, for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects.
[...] The Washington Post called Speaker Pelosi's mission to Syria "foolish." Vice President Cheney called it "bad behavior." We call it felony. [END]That was in reference to Nancy's visit to Syria, a known State sponsor of terrorism, as she was exhibiting her BDS to and for our enemies.

[...] According to the United States Supreme Court, only the President of the United States has such power and authority to act as spokesman for the U.S. All others, including government leaders, must retain approval.Hell, even I know of Ted Kennedy's dealings with the USSR violating the Logan Act as he was trying to undermine his "dear friend" President Ronald Wilson Reagan for crying out loud. ALAS! There are no men of courage in DC - their spines have been mashed to infected puss pods and are no more effective in representing We The People than a bowl of whale dung is.
According to the Logan Act, to disregard such authority is a dangerous threat to the United states, placing its citizens in [jeopardy]. The Act strictly states no U.S. citizen has the right to even correspond with foreign governments without the approval of the President of the United states. No citizen can take on disputes unless they are lawful sanctioned government officials acting on the authority of the President of the United States.
The Logan Act stands as law to this day, but is continuously violated without punishment, except for one case in 1803 when a Kentucky newspaper called for the citizens to make a separate Western United States under France.
Can anyone imagine a French Kentucky? What kind of Burbon would that be; carbonated?
In 1948, the Logan Act resurfaced when Congressman J. Parnell Thomas demanded the immediate prosecution of Henry Wallace for breaking the 1799 Logan Act Law. According to author Frederick B. Tolles of The William and Mary Quarterly 3rd Ser., Vol. 7, No. 1 (Jan., 1950), pp. 3-25 column titled Unofficial Ambassador: George Logan's Mission to France, 1798, Tolles stated: "Was not Wallace, in speeches made while traveling abroad, criticizing American policy toward Russia? And was not this criticism by a private citizen, asked Representative Thomas, influencing a diplomatic dispute in such a way as (in the words of the Act itself) 'to defeat the measures' of the United States?" [...]
